Taking A First Look At Hazbin Hotel On Prime Video

• Explicit sexual references, including a moment of sexual intercourse and signs of sexual abuse

There may have been a copyright-related issue that caused the pilot of Hazbin Hotel to disappear from and reappear on YouTube [6] [39] [59], but the first two episodes of the first season became available to watch early in the A24 app for a limited time and premiered along with the third episode at a fan event in Los Angeles [30] [56] [63]. I was thrilled to tune into the songs before the premiere, starting with “Poison”, a pop number sung by Blake Roman as Angel Dust earlier this month [44] [52]. Oh! And guess what occurred and went viral during the hype, authorised early accesses and fiendish leaking [8] [73]? The infamous and amusingly shocking fanbase music video of Charlie in her design from the pilot going after and seducing Verbalase [35] [37] [50] [53], the founder of the Cartoon Beatbox Battles series on his YouTube channel in his cartoon persona [20] [21]. Just like the first season of Helluva Boss [40], the first season of Hazbin Hotel shall consist of eight episodes in total, including its finale which is set to be released during the first week of February [32]. As Barbie: The Movie continues to flaunt its success with more awards it has won and has been nominated for [10] [11] [73], there are a few things I am willing to discuss before diving right into the first four fiery depths of Hazbin Hotel [30]. 

Earlier this month, we saw Morgana Ignis cosplaying as the character she voiced in “The Harvest Moon Festival”, the fifth episode of the first season of Helluva Boss at Sac Anime [42] [58]. I love Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss arguably more than how Cheese from Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends likes chocolate milk [14]. Perhaps how I may adore the second season of Hazbin Hotel in about a year or two will be like how Cheese can like chocolate fudge milk [2] [14]. [4]

It turns out that the dream of allowing sinners to be redeemed was originally Lilith’s dream [49]. The visuals of Mr. and Mrs. Morningstar’s backstory narrated by their daughter is a reminder of the introduction of the pilot [39]; a mysterious monochrome palette with dashes of an intimating tint of red for the apple Lucifer tempted Eve to eat and a heavenly yellow hue for some angelic characteristics for the angels in Heaven [49]. How Lucifer is portrayed in the backstory scene could be a sign of him not being another “problematic father” trope from the second season of Helluva Boss [68] [69], but simply disagreeing with his wife and daughter's dream. As for Lilith, she sounds very likely to be supportive of Charlie being the second dreamer and how she broke up with Adam and how impressed by her independence her second lover was a long, long time ago is a sign of her being a feminist character done right [49], unlike Femme Fatal from The Powerpuff Girls who is just a manipulative misandrist [36]. It is quite nice to make the story of Adam and Eve more about Adam’s first wife and the persuasive snake that got him and his second wife into trouble for a change [49]. 

It may be inaccurate how Lucifer did not disguise himself as a snake in this flashback, but the overall scene is quite like an exceptional project done for an animation course at university. [49]

I bet you will make your mother so proud of you throughout the ounces of satanic imagery, Charlie [29] [58]. I will aim to make my mother proud of me too [72]. [49]

The first two episodes of the first are titled “Overture” and “Radio Killed The Video Star” [32]. From my point of view as someone who has not browsed the content on the A24 app due to having the preference of watching the series on Prime Video [1], there is not much to talk about them at the time of writing this analysis on the day before the premiere on Prime Video aside from the summaries in descriptions [32]. The first episode, as some of us would have expected nearly four years after the success of the pilot is centred on the beginning of the hotel’s business [39], beginning with the tragic backstory of Charlie’s parents before an advert for promoting the hotel is produced [49]. The episode afterwards is seemingly centred on Alastor’s rivalry with Vox [32] [68] [69]. Quite unfortunately, there has been some backlash against the aspect of Angel Dust being a victim of sexual assault at some point in the season [9], which is what plenty of us have dreaded the expansion on since the release of the music video for Addict by Silva Hound in 2020 [38] [66] [67]. Nonetheless, I shall look forward to the full experience of the first two doses of animated sinfulness and five more before the Season One finale [32], despite how I may consider some aspects less favourable than others. 

Some double standards against the writing of the first season so far have been aggravating, as subjective as they seem out of context [47] [54]. Nevertheless, I can understand where some people complaining about the subject of Angel Dust being sexually assaulted by Valentino are coming from as I wish Millie scolded a certain posse for sexually harassing Moxxie in the third episode of Helluva Boss [9] [22] [41] [64] [65], which somehow applied to an arranged wedding that was crashed in a season later [23]. However, how fans who are still supporting the series, despite its apparent partially rough start were sent footage of gruesome content that will NOT be explained here was abhorrent and inexcusable [9]! Doesn’t targeted harassment, especially on Twitter/X just make you want to scream and tear your hair out? [52]

On a lighter note, it will be interesting to see how the beginning of the business will go in the first two episodes. The final sneak peek that was been uploaded on Twitter/X is basically some more clips put together [31], much to my interest and sinful delight. And since I do not reside in Los Angeles, I can only watch the third episode on Prime Video tomorrow or two [56] [57] [68] [69]. [31]

Before we wrap things up, here are some high hopes for the eighth episode of the second season of Helluva Boss. I still stand by how the episode can bring on some new depth for Stolitz, even if it will result in a breakup [25]. Especially after being bewitched by the beauty of the canonisation of “Look My Way” by PARANOiD DJ sung by Bryce Pinkham [69] [70], I strongly hope that a sudden breakup will not corrupt Stolas into a toxic victim mentality as I still consider him my favourite member of the cast. Moreover, I hope that Loona will rise from a rather out-of-character moment in “Western Energy” and provide the highly effective character progression she had in “Queen Bee” [40] [43]. I would also prefer the ordering and writing of the episodes to be more consistent as how Stolas’ time in the hospital was never expanded in “Unhappy Campers” and was shrugged off like it was nothing in “Oops” as made me wish that the Instagram accounts continued throughout 2023 for the sake of consistency [33] [24] [25] [55]. Before there can be more to tell in the other rings of Hell, there ought to be a third Season Two trailer for all of us to gain an idea of how the rest of the season second will go [69] [70].

Due to the constant negativity and drama surrounding Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, including the recent issues during the hype for the first season of Hazbin Hotel [8] [9], which is one of the reasons why I stopped tweeting on Twitter, now known as “X”, is it any wonder why I have not felt the motivation to publish reviews of the Season One finale of Helluva Boss, along with the fifth, sixth and seventh episodes of the second season for quite some time [70] [71]? Nonetheless, I believe that there will be a time when I can finally state my thoughts on the steps that I skipped throughout my damnation and I still consider myself an admirer of Helluva Boss. [25]

Toxicity caused by the actions of people has ruined what I have enjoyed for me for years [16] [46] [76], but I still have the strength to be a loyal hazbean [51]. I still have the right to consider the Hellaverse a form of escapism during the ongoing abuse of autistic people in the United Kingdom [19] [62]. I know that I feel like I can be obliged to not review every single episode unless I want to, but it is never too late to review an earlier episode [70] [71]. Better late than never, huh? Rumour has it that Vox, Velvette and Valentino will have their own spin-off series at some point [7], which is what I believe ought to apply to Stolas as it can lead him becoming an even better character [5] [70] [71]. [17]

In conclusion, I understand that the first season of Hazbin Hotel so far is not immune to criticism, especially in terms of writing [1] [9], but can I still love the hell out of it for all the reasons why I do? Hell yes! As we heed the warnings of those condemning the leaks of the episodes before the early access offers on the A24 app [8] [73], let us show support for the animators, writers, songwriters, and voice actors to put their hearts and souls into the first season [26] [27] [28]. Kudos to the cast of the official Italian dub too [3] [4]! Especially after the finale, I would be delightfully thrilled to see the third trailer for the second season of Helluva Boss for the sake of some consistent advertising [74] [75]. And hopefully, the second season of Hazbin Hotel will not be considered as much of a downgrade as the start of the second season of Helluva Bossoutside of my opinion [13] [74] [75], but we shall see about that in about a year or two [68] [69]. While our simmers begin a sensational season with the brand new Castle Estate and Goth Galore Kits for The Sims 4 and EVE from WALL-E begins the hype for the sixth season of Disney Speedstorm for Disney devotees [18] [60] [61], all hell will be let loose as hazbeans even smell and taste the animated amazements of the first season of Hazbin Hotel [4]. Arrivederci!

Please do not attack the people who have leaked the first few episodes online before early access to the first two became available on the A24 or Verbalase over the erotic animation of his cartoon persona and Charlie being rather out-of-character and the memes and drama that were caused because of it [8] [34]. The issues surrounding the exposure of the sensual animation, as well as the drama surrounding the unlawful leaks of the episodes ought to lead to a valuable lesson being learned somehow, not to encourage any harassment towards someone in a hit piece or video on YouTube discussing the issues, despite how ineffective an apology would ultimately be after how questionable actions can be [45]. [35]

Please continue to show your love and support for the cast of the pilot [12] [39]. And guess what? I suspect that there will be another line of Valentine’s Day-themed merchandise next month [74] [75]. Alternatively, you do not Stolas will resort to starting an OnlyFans account after a session with his therapist [48], no? Stay sinful! [49]
