The Powerpuff Girls And Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends To Be Reimagined

It has been announced by no other than Craig McCracken that a second reboot of The Powerpuff Girls is in the works, along with a reboot of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends [25] [41]. Aside from how I fondly remember watching both cartoons on Cartoon Network when I was a child, I am absolutely starstruck that my articles on what to expect in a second reboot of The Powerpuff Girls and a revival of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends have predicted the future [50] [51] [52] [53]. And yes, this is not the first this has happened to me as we shall expect to see the official trailer for a Tomb Raider anime soon [45] [46]. Money cannot buy back a star after betrayal [21], but it can buy a second chance and a reimagining in the right hands at the right time. The fact that the creator of both shows is willing to reimagine them just reeks of faithfulness rather than just the scent of money [25] [41]. Moreover, how about a discussion on what to expect in TWO reboots for the price of one before bedtime, just like how I reviewed the third and fourth episodes of the first season of Helluva Boss in one sin over a year ago [44] [45]?
I am delighted to be proven wrong on this one [48]. Well, as for my article on a revival of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, I would say that one has only partially predicted the future as there is an obvious difference between a revival and a reboot [50] [51]. Nonetheless, I shall expand on what ought to occur in a new series – reboot-wise, along with a second reboot of The Powerpuff Girls [25] [41]. [50]

How can a reboot of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends be imagined in the 2020s? It would be expected that it will feature characters using today’s technology, especially smartphones. Mac and Bloo would likely make quirky videos on a parody of TikTok, even though that sounds rather detestable if you ask me [27] [43]. But more importantly, as previously stated, there ought to be brand new characters that will consist of some positive representation, such as a deaf child with their own imaginary friend who communicates in ASL (American Sign Language) and a gay, lesbian, transgender or non-binary character for teaching a young audience that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality and transgenderism or what being non-binary is like [52] [53]. As an online blogger [3], may I suggest establishing an online journalism blog on the website for the home? As unlikely as it seems that it would be as outstandingly imaginary as the original series that ran from 2004 to 2009 [19], despite McCracken’s confirmed participation [25] [41], I still do not want a reboot of an outstanding mid and late-2000s cartoon to make the same mistakes Teen Titans GO and the first reboot of The Powerpuff Girls made whilst catching up with today’s societal elements for today’s youth [42] [50] [51].
Regardless of whether the continuation of the original series will be disregarded or not, I am delighted that Craig McCracken is willing to bring a foster home for so many imaginary friends back in business later this decade [25] [41]. Considering the original series ended thirteen years ago [19], I suppose there is a need to reboot the series rather than revive it. Besides, a reboot can still provide some explanations that were not there in the original series [12]. It worked for Clank’s creation in the reimagining of the first Ratchet and Clank game [36]. [10]
For more suggestions on how to make a reboot excel, despite the previous suggestion to revive the original series instead, I still suggest providing some new in-character exploration for the supporting characters, including Wilt, Eduardo, Coco, Duchess and Mr, Herriman and minor characters, such as Nancy, Peas and Crackers [50] [51]. Frankie can use a smartphone and own a parody of a MacBook to make the reboot more “modern”, but convincing portrayals of re-established characters would be more important than that. [14]

There is a lot of hope for the second reboot of The Powerpuff Girls to not crash into controversy and burn on a grill of corny overreliance on real-life trends like the first one did. The second reboot should definitely bring back Ms. Bellum and the narrator, along with more intense fighting, but obviously not let it too far. Despite my theory on the first reboot actually being a continuation of the original series with the girls attending Midway Elementary School, I am sure that Pokey Oaks can return in the second reboot to honour the original series even more. Furthermore, a new version of Bliss ought to be a student at a new high school in Townsville possibly named “Townsville High School” as a freshman in the second reboot as she is indeed several years older than them. The metaphor for transgenderism Donny consisted of in the first reboot should not make that same big mistake again by being presented respectfully in the second reboot for the sake of positive LGBTQ+ representation in animation primarily for children [50] [51]. I am up for faithfulness to what the creator intends, but I would still give aspects from mostly disliked adaptations a second chance to avoid possible bias.
Even though I still cannot dislike Bliss in the slightest, a faintly improved portrayal of her from the first Powerpuff Girls reboot ought to be a student at Midway Elementary School while the girls attend Pokey Oaks again in the second reboot. [39]
As for other aspects of the controversial first reboot [50] [51], do you know what I would say? If it hasn’t been fixed, don’t break it again. [15]

Will a reboot of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends at least stick to what McCracken intended as well [25] [41]? As I have mentioned before, the original series was amazing, but not immune to criticism [52] [53]. I still firmly suggest reducing Bloo’s self-centred side to make a new interpretation of him more likeable and sympathetic [22]. And please, please, please! Let Frankie Foster enjoy her job more by providing the respect from the friends she deserves and possibly letting her find a love interest who could be a new carer at the home [7] [52] [53]! It is entirely possible to make the show funny without mean-spiritedness [9] [14]. Moreover, everyone knew a prime example of a step too far was Bendy [18]. There also ought to be some new exploration for some already established characters in the reboot, such as Eurotrish getting adopted by a kinder European family and Mac’s mother reflecting on her relationship with his father [52] [53]. Could Mac introduce his cousin Candy to the home too [20]? No, not THAT candy [22]! One goal that would make a reboot seem more necessary is refraining from causing what made some episodes be duds to occur again and another would be providing some new exploration that was not in the original series before [12].
The reboot of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends also does not have to be perfect, but those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it [52] [53]. [18]
On a lighter note, I would be chuffed with Cheese making a comeback [52] [53]. HE LIKES CHOCOLATE MILK!!! [17]

I am still up for Craig McCracken’s second concoction for The Powerpuff Girls consisting of small ingredients from some other incarnations throughout the series, including The Powerpuff Girls Z to appeal to those who enjoyed them too [31] [50] [51]. A new episode can make the hinted food-related villains from “Meat Fuzzy Lumkins” return with Fuzzy Lumpkins and the league of broccoli aliens from “Beat Your Greens” in an epic food battle [6] [50] [51]. No reference to Smosh intended [34] [35]. Why not welcome back the very first villains, the Amoeba Boys…with a fourth member as a reference to The Powerpuff Girls Z [31] [50] [51]? Reflecting on my recommendation to not do a rehash of the girls in a car without Professor Utonium’s supervision from the music video [26] [50] [51], I am aware that Blossom has been a driver before as Liberty Belle in the episode “Super Zeroes” [32]. Nonetheless, I like the idea of an incarnation of the girls in a separate canon that appeals to a faintly older female audience, so the Dream In Style brand and promotions for it were not too controversial for me [1] [26]. But still, the majority of the second reboot’s reboot ought to grant what McCracken wishes for, much to the appreciation from the fans of the first four seasons of the original series [25] [41].
The idea of the girls becoming infatuated with fashion as if they were younger versions of Bratz dolls seems rather out of character for the notably tomboyish Buttercup [4] [26]. Nevertheless, it was quite assuming to see them “attack” the villains by tossing clothes and letting them land on them, which led to them all dancing in a line. Maybe that moment can occur in the second reboot to potentially troll certain parents who still complain about the girls being “a bad example of kids” [52] [53]. [26]
And what can I say? The Powerpuff Girls Z gained a cult following [37], so there ought to be a few minor things regarding the anime adaption in the second reboot in the West, such as an eventual wife for Professor Utonium and a brother for Mayor who can be the principal of the school Bliss attends [31]. I also recommend making Bubbles skilled in coding once again or apply that skill to Blossom to keep proving that girls can code too. If there will be a TikTok parody, I just hope it will be portrayed wisely, despite my bitterness towards the app’s negative reputation [27] [43]. [31]

A reboot of Foster’s Home For Imaginary ought to begin with a re-establishment of how Bloo became a resident of the house [5], along with perhaps the home’s origin set in a time when Madame Foster was a young adult. The Leapfrog Didj game based on the original show provided some backstory hints [20], similar to how certain traits of characters are revealed throughout the progression of a simmer’s sim’s friendships with them in the Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable versions of The Sims 2 [16] [40]. Furthermore, the new origin of Bloo’s accommodation can mention that he was imagined to help a three-year-old Mac cope without the blanket he had to give up [20]. Chances are that the recreated origins of the other friends may not fully honour the original ones, but only a few differences would be better than a complete disregard of the deep meaning behind a character’s specific traits. Even Duchess could have an origin that explains why she is so bitter and self-centred [52] [53]. I am aware that a reboot is an entirely separate continuation, but I still recommend including some similarities from other installations outside of the original television show’s run when it comes to re-establishing familiar characters without tarnishing their images [33].
As previously stated, there can be more members of the Foster family introduced in the reboot [52] [53]. Will they be passionate about running the foster home too? Could one of them be a journalist for the newspapers [11]? Will any of them be LGBTQ+ for some positive representation? There are quite a lot of possibilities during or after the re-establishment of Bloo’s accommodation. [7]
I suppose a new season of games for the Playdate can feature either the second reboot of The Powerpuff Girls or the reimagining of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends [29]. [33]

Surely, the second Powerpuff Girls reboot ought to have some new elements to enhance its individuality and freshness, aside from the strong demand for it to honour the original series. I am not up for spoilers, but maybe the ident that aired on Cartoon Network a few months ago could have given a brief hint or two on what the second Powerpuff Girls reboot could have to offer to make up for so much backlash towards the first one [23] [30] [52] [53]. Different art styles appear throughout the segment, providing creative potential [23] [30]. Every time Bubbles hiccups, there is a new striking art style, including one that looks a lot like the iconic original art style we all have known and loved since 1995 [50] [51]. The second reboot of The Powerpuff Girls will likely be a separate canon from the upcoming live-action film, which would be understandable for bringing back the charm of the original series. Despite my hopes of a new cartoon starring three little Townsville girls being a true spiritual successor [50] [51], I know that it does not have to be perfect when it comes to at least trying to seem fresh for a new young audience, along with an old audience who grew up with the original series.
I was quite starstruck at the ident when I first saw it a few months ago [48] [49]. I like how the main art style is a rehash of the Dance Pantsed special from 2014 [13], but with the girls wearing black shoes and having white collars on the top of their dresses [30]. I honestly would not mind the second reboot having either this art style… [23]
…yet I do not doubt that many fans would prefer the art style for it to be adapted from this one, as slightly off-putting the hairstyles are here [30]. Nonetheless, it would be best to stick to the good ol’ style that originated from What-A-Cartoon [50] [51]. [23]
In conclusion, it will take some time for two reboots to be imagined on Cartoon Network [25] [41]. Although there is a slight risk of a reboot of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends not fully honouring the legacy of the original series, there is still hope for a second reboot of The Powerpuff Girls being preferable over the first one [52] [53]. Despite the optimism and hope I can hold for reboots in production, there is nothing wrong with strongly preferring an original series and vowing to not “fix” what was not broken, but please refrain from bitterness over different opinions [2]. More importantly to many of us, there ought to be something new and fresh within a new property, such as an Xbox Series X/S game that requires the power of the controller to play a magical keyboard throughout a daring quest to save a magical land [54]. I know I cannot always predict the future of entertainment, but I am at least not what some people have made me out to be this year [21]. Furthermore, I wish the talented and inspirational Craig McCracken the best of luck when it comes to reimagining Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends and a portion of Chemical X added to the second reboot of The Powerpuff Girls [25] [41].
Aside from the determination to prove that not all reboots are lacklustre and fury-inducing [50] [51], there ought to be reasonable and engaging continuations, such as a third season of Green Eggs and Ham that could introduce Sam-I-Am’s father and possibly his sibling [28]. Who knows how well Sonic Frontiers will do [48] [49]? I am grateful that my passion for analysing and reviewing cartoons is still appreciated to this day, which gives me the motivation to keep writing reviews and such [3]. [8]
I do not doubt that the two reboots would occasionally make references to one another in honour of Craig McCracken’s new motivations [5] [52] [53]. I would be absolutely delighted if there will also be a reboot of the Pixel Chix franchise [24]. Will us 2000s kids rejoice over the outcome of the recreations of McCracken’s two favourite creations or nearly drown in disappointment [25] [41]? The two reboots do not have to be complete perfection, but it would be cool to see them air at the same time as if we were willingly re-experiencing many things from the 2000s. Well, at least not everything [38]. [5]

The Powerpuff Girls – A New City Of Townsville?

Disclaimer
This is an article on the history of a popular animated franchise that mentions concerns regarding:
  • Blood and gore within cartoon violence
  • Transphobia
  • Accusations of pedophilia
Reader discretion is advised.
Sugar, spice and everything nice. Those were the ingredients chosen with an accidental dose of Chemical X to create three superheroes who have dedicated their lives to saving the day before bedtime [24]. They say that nothing beats the original, especially if a reboot of a popular cartoon turns out to be a misguided letdown [50]. However, I believe there can be a way to make up for such a misfortune, especially due to a huge risk of a live-action reboot being a complete disaster after only a pilot with some likely changes to a leaked script [1] [27]. Call me an old soul, but I can safely say that the first half of the 2020s has been mostly fearsome and gloomy so far. Furthermore, the current generation could use a few more heroes. How about a brand new animated series starring Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup [69]? A little change would not hurt as I enjoyed snacking on a slice of Terry’s dark chocolate orange instead of the usual milk chocolate orange on Boxing Day. I mean, what could be next in terms of refreshing familiarity [21]? Reviving the Pixel Chix franchise with some brand new male characters in their own homes and cars [91]?
After doing my last manicure of 2021, I suspected that I ought to follow the rules in Lara Croft’s RPG book in early 2022 as Hello Kitty and her friends hopefully sense some good luck and maintain good health [26] [88]. It is important to keep following your passions in a proactive manner…and behave yourself, according to Deadpool after his Nerdy Thirty [94]. [51]
It all began with McCracken’s college project, “Whoopass Stew!” back in about 1992 [54]. It was quite fascinating how Blossom, my favourite powerpuff girl had her ponytail designed quite differently [19]. More drastically, Professor Utonium was shorter, wore glasses and lacked hair, faintly resembling Dexter from the Dexter’s Laboratory series [68]. Did the whoopass in its can really have to look like something it should not [19]? As quite cheesy as the violence was in the introduction, it at least provided a bit of comical humour. The music during the first-ever encounter of the Amoeba Boys was gaudy and the way the girls made them melt away near the sun was one somewhat toned-down fatality [6] [54] [93]. I am glad that McCracken decided to change the show and group’s name to “The Powerpuff Girls” as it suits the cuteness of the girls’ iconic designs better and it is indeed more appropriate and memorable for a young target audience [54]. Hopefully, McCracken will agree to allow the next of reboot his creation as letting him get involved will make it very faithful to what he intended for what his trio of little girls evolved into, which will be explained later on.

A title like “Whoopass Stew” sounds more fitting for a cartoon on Adult Swim. There was also a second episode that was never fully animated but featured the character Him previously named “The Devil” with a differently designed face [90]. [54]
Here is the first-ever concept art of the girls by their creator, Craig McCracken. I suppose the next reboot could poke a little fun at their much older designs, quite like how the Run Of The Mills girls poked fun at negatively received concept art [47] [90]. [28]
The intellectual property later went on to be part of the What-A-Cartoon series, just like how Cow and Chicken and Dexter’s Laboratory started off as shorts on television before going solo [67] [68]. There were two episodes starring the trio with different premises that introduced Fuzzy Lumpkins when his surname lacked the “P” and re-introduced the Amoeba Boys as…well…less threatening criminals [40] [43]. Bubbles was voiced by Kath Soucie in both episodes, making her sound like Lil from Rugrats. The mayor’s design was drastically different, along with his voice in “Meet Fuzzy Lumkins” [43]. The end of the episode’s climax establishes why the villain Bubbles most commonly fights against is Fuzzy. You better not turn MY hair into meat, okay?! The animation of the two shorts was rather different as “Crime 101” featured an alternation for Blossom’s hair [40]. I sure as heck doubt that a new incarnation of the girls would not like the taste of meat jam nor try to rob a bank as a demonstration for aspiring criminals. I think I will try some of the jam from Letter B on a slice of toast while Professor Utonium makes toast for the girls with the jam from Letter A sometime soon [40].
More introductory aspects in “Meet Fuzzy Lumkins” included how Blossom would often be the one to answer the hotline and Bubbles’ hobby in colouring. Why not bring back those food-related villains in a new reboot as they were only mentioned and seen in one deception? [43]
Now, this is what we all saw coming! The first four seasons of The Powerpuff Girls were timeless and witty enough to be considered late ‘90s and early 2000s classics. One of my favourite episodes would be “The Powerpuff Girls’ Best Rainy Day Ever” due to the delightful portrayal of the girls’ imaginative play based on their duties as crime-fighters [9] [60]. Another favourite moment of mine would be the musical number that restored Townsville’s colours [25]. Despite the outstanding reception, the first few seasons of the original show were not beyond criticism as there was a dud set in Citysville that was far too mean-spirited and had a few holes regarding other episodes. I am also not fond of “A Very Special Blossom” [37]. I will admit that some moments of violence in the show that involved a little blood would not be present in cartoons aimed at children, especially to this day [24] [29] [59]. There ought to be not a drop of blood if the target audience for the next reboot will be children, although I understand that the original show’s violence was never as graphic as the blood and gore in the Happy Tree Friends series [30] [31]. But I digress. How about some sly and subtle jokes for the older ones? Wink wink.

Here is some artwork that could work well in a new cartoon. It can be seen in a children’s book titled “The Powerpuff Girls: Big Terrible Trouble” that was published back in 1999 [3]. Perhaps a highly similar style can be established in another reboot, but again, without any gore to avoid complaints from parents [29]. [2]
Oh. And this is pretty much how I felt when I was a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog [18]. [37]
The fifth and sixth season of the original show that featured the updated art style based on the movie under the production of Cartoon Network Studios was when plenty of fans identified a “seasonal rot” [35] [68] [71]. A few episodes were prime proof of such a claim, including “Sun Scream” and “Girls Gone Mild” [61] [70]. It was bad enough the film was not financially successful [51]. But as a 2000s kid, I did not mind the post-movie seasons of The Powerpuff Girls as I personally enjoyed some of its episodes, such as “Silent Treatment”, “West In Pieces”, and “Oops I Did It Again” [46] [92]. Furthermore, I can see how the complaints the film and the show received for its excessive use of violence were challenged in “Girls Gone Mild” [29] [51] [59] [61]. I also saw some interesting and new character development for the girls in “Crazy Mixed Up Puffs” and I thought the redesigns of the Rowdyruff Boys in their return were more preferable and recognizable [14] [68]. I would say the final two seasons of the original show with the newer art style was a mixed bag. Perhaps the start of a new cartoon starring the three pint-sized superheroines can re-establish their origin or expand on it as they further develop their skills in civilization and managing their superpowers.
The writing of some episodes in the fifth and sixth seasons of the original show could have provided better pacing, more engaging jokes and more elevating aspects of creativity [68] [71]. Too bad some of the colours of the notable backgrounds were gone, yet I liked the vibrant outfits for the Steamypuff Girls [53]. Why not bring back the Powerpunk Girls, the evil counterparts from an alternate universe to bring back more fast-paced action in a new reboot [52]? [53]
I am pretty sure a reboot of Dexter’s Laboratory can combine the continuities of the original two seasons produced by Hanna-Barbera and the revival that was produced by Cartoon Network Studios after the release of Ego Trip, but not make the same mistakes and sacrifices shown in the third and fourth season for quality’s sake [67]. [46]
Back in 2004, the trio appeared in a strikingly different art style for The Powerpuff Girls: Dream in Style [36] [72]. Their limbs were longer and pointed and their hair was more detailed. Their lips were red, which made them look like they were wearing lipstick, which was unfortunately quite questionable as they were meant to be at the age of a kindergartner ever since the series began in 1998 [68]. Nonetheless, the music video they all starred in was quirky and vibrant, despite the girls being plainly portrayed as fashionistas most of the time and the theme song was pretty catchy [36] [72]. On the website that promoted a spin-off headcanon, Blossom hosted a personality quiz, Bubbles expressed an interest in travelling and Buttercup made a list of fitness tips [5]. They sure had their own thing. There was no sign of anything dark from the series anywhere, especially not when sweets were a blatant metaphor for drugs [33]. Perhaps there can be a vague dream in style in a new incarnation, but only for a specific and short moment, such as a musical number to avoid distraction from intense action when it comes to saving the day…that does not involve underaged driving [36] [72].
I got my own thing! Yeah! Yeah! [36] [72]
Oh! And let us not forget about The Powerpuff Girls Z! It was an anime series based on the original series that firstly aired in Japan [48]. One of the major differences was that the girls had nicknames; Hyper Blossom, Rolling Bubbles and Powered Buttercup [63]. Other differences in The Powerpuff Girls Z! include:
·      The girls were not sisters and had different families [48]
·      The Professor had a spouse and a son [48]
·      The girls were not born with their powers but received them later in life instead [48]
·      The members of the Gangreen Gang have different names [48]
·      The girls were armed with magical weapons; Blossom with a yo-yo, Bubbles with a large bubble wand and Buttercup with a mallet [48] [63]
·      Princess Morbucks had an older sister who was known as “Duchess” [45] [48]
The series eventually had a full English dub [34]. I enjoyed singing the lyrics to the Japanese theme song when I was a younger teenager. Perhaps the next incarnation can feature a few references to The Powerpuff Girls Z! for all the anime admirers and manga readers out there, including the Major having a brother who is a school headteacher and the Professor eventually being in a well-deserved happy marriage [48].
There was also a manga series of The Powerpuff Girls Z. Surely, not every fan enjoyed the anime adaption, but it was still quite popular back in the day. [48]
Surely, there can be the grand return of the Rowdyruff Boys with a re-established yet faithful origin for them in a new reboot. Besides, they were also adapted for the Powerpuff Girls Z. [48]
I remember watching the special titled “The Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pantsed” back in 2014 and enjoying it for bringing The Powerpuff Girls back for a new audience [12] [13]. However, looking back at it now makes me believe that it was unfortunately quite misguided, including some moments that seemed quite out of character to some of us. It was rather puzzling to see Bubbles have ice breath instead of Blossom, even though that special power does suit her light blue eyes, dress and shoes [12]. Sorry. I relate to Elsa from Frozen [23]. As fresh and quirky the special’s art style was, I think it would have worked a little better with rather advanced Flash animation instead of abstract CGI and smoother movement [12] [13]. Since I liked how the girls’ shoes were in their favourite colours, I think that could be featured in a new 2020s cartoon based on their legacies as an Easter egg. I would not mind if the art style for a brand new Powerpuff Girls cartoon would feature the girls with shoes that are in their signature colours with black outlines to help them stand out. Besides, that would give a new and hopefully improved reboot a little more individuality. Some critics can evolve into creators, right? Teehee!
I thought the girls looked really cool in their robotic forms under the influence of the video game Bubbles became infatuated with in the special. But still, despite the interesting art style, the animation could have worked a bit better if it was 2D instead of CGI and not so choppy [12] [24]. [13]
I never despised the reboot of the cartoon that began in 2016, but I wish it was a lot more faithful to what made the original a hit. One thing the reboot has received criticism for was its reliance of today’s culture, such as references to memes and…twerking with the panda who sounded like Mickey Mouse after he smoked a certain something [50] [68] [76]. As a supporter of LGBT tolerance, I can say that the controversy surrounding the portrayal of Donny ruined the first season’s reputation for me [41]. I really did not like the premise of “The Wrinklegruff Gals” very much for specific reasons [87]. Another issue was how the character Jared, a love interest for Blossom was designed after one of the show’s writers, which caused many viewers to believe he was a self-insert character for the writer to let out some…questionable fantasies [32] [42]. As much as I do not condone bullying towards those who actually liked the pairing, I believe Jared should have been designed and written very differently to prevent the controversy from ever happening. It is shame that Ms. Bellum was absent in the reboot, but at least she had a lovely vacation [50]. It would be imperative that the next reboot does not make the same mistakes.

There is a right way to do a reboot…and there is a wrong way to do a reboot. [87]

I sure hope the next reboot will be a lot more LGBT-friendly by featuring some same-sex couples with their own adopted children in backgrounds. Oh! And no minors twerking please! [76]

Were there at least a few things I liked about the controversial reboot? Quite surprisingly, yes. The new expressions, especially in the eyes of the girls were at least refreshing and expanded on some creativity within the animation [76]. I also liked the new power of auras that can be shaped with each girl’s imagination. Blossom’s pink aura involved various household objects, Bubbles’ blue aura could change into animals and Buttercup’s aura can transform into transport and weaponary [82] [83]. The categories for each aura suited each girl’s traits, which prove the new power’s credibility. I also liked the premise of helping Princess Morbucks become a better person as it provided interesting exploration for a villainous character [75]. I suppose we can welcome back the panda who sounds like Mickey Mouse if he was ever high on marijuana. Ironically, Bliss is a character I like as her development reminds me of Elsa from Disney’s Frozen [7] [23]. But still, she retreated to a place called “Bird Poop Island” [38]? Really? Taking the minority of tolerable aspects from a mostly flawed reboot and including it in a rehash of what made the original show acclaimed can also make a new interpretation appealing to those who ironically enjoyed the reboot. Please respect opinions, citizens!
I did not mind the shorts all that much as I liked the gag with Bubbles pretending to be a sports network anchor with Octi in “Air Buttercup” and thought the concept of her as a beauty blogger was pretty cute [73] [81]. I also liked how Bubbles and Buttercup’s hairstyles were slightly alternated in the 2016 reboot and I would not mind those returning in the next one. [81]
I guess there can be some development for Blossom, my favourite of the trio that would lead to her learning to be less bossy at some point. I am sure a new Bubbles will be as adorable as the crossover between Hello Kitty and Pusheen the Cat [55] [56] [57] [58], even though “Bubblevicious” from the first four seasons of the original show was a prime example of interesting character exploration [8]. I am quite interested in how she became skilled in computer programming in the reboot [77], even though I think it would have made more sense if Blossom had that skill as she is the smart one. Perhaps the next cartoon should reduce Blossom’s uptightness, portray her skill in speaking a specific Chinese dialect, keep Bubbles interested in computer programming, along with speaking Spanish and Squirrel and make Buttercup’s flaws more balanced with her nobility to her sisters to ensure that their portrayals will be more faithful to what McCracken has intended during the original show’s run, as well as faithful to the small amount of redeeming qualities from the reboot [50] [68] [84].As usual, Blossom should be the smart one for excellent leadership, Bubbles needs to be the cute one for a little light-heartedness and Buttercup must be the tough one in honour of tomboy representation.

I honestly do not mind the girls having crushes in a new reboot. However, please do not make the same mistake again and make sure they all look as youthful as they do whilst establishing that they are exactly the same age as them. Good versions of the Rowdyruff Boys, yes? [79]
And lastly, make sure they can all play instruments in a band [80] [86]! Rock on! [25]

I have theorised that the 2016 reboot actually takes place after the original series due to a flashback of Pokey Oaks being destroyed before the middle school that was further established and how the classic hotline phone was replaced with new smartphones [44] [50]. I believe that including the middle school in a new cartoon, along with possibly ageing the girls up to only about a few years older can make it seem like a proper successor to the original cartoon series with certain aspects of the reboot included, such as the creation of Bliss. It is interesting how she has a different voice actress she appears in different regional airings, despite how unnecessary it seems as it vaguely reminds me of how Catherine can speak in about fourteen different Japanese voices in Catherine: Full Body for the Nintendo Switch with DLC [10] [15] [16] [17] [22] [38]. But still, I would not mind an official British dub of the next reboot at all! I am sure that it can be a semi-continuation to ensure there will be no invalid inconstancies. Rebooting a failed reboot can work if widespread criticism is taken into consideration, even as a potential prequel to a live-action movie with their designs loosely based on Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault and whoever replaces Chloe Bennet [20] [27] [89].
Bliss may have been a “Mary-Sue” to many fans, but I still cannot be mad at her in the slightest [10] [16]. Besides, there was a fourth member of the Amoeba gang in The Powerpuff Girls Z [48]. Besides how she was the fourth powerpuff girl instead of Bunny in the reboot, she can express grief of having never met her. There can also be the creation of the “perfect little girl” from the opening sequence of Whoopass Stew who many fans nicknamed “Bell” [47] [65], along with the return of Bullet to form another powerpuff trio [39]. [16]
And of course, a new theme song and opening sequence ought to be exceptional. [24]
In a hopeful conclusion, I strongly believe that a new Powerpuff Girls cartoon at some point in the rest of the 2020s or later should provide:
  •       A convincing art style for the pint-sized heroines
  •       Likeable and convincing portrayals of the characters, including the supporting ones
  •       Thrilling and comical fighting sequences without grotesque detail [29]
  •       Reliance on intelligent and imaginative writing rather than real-life trends [50] [68]
  •       The return of some classic characters, including Ms. Bellum and the narrator [50]
  •       New and improved portrayals of characters from the reboot, including Bliss and Donny [38] [41]
  •       Some dark moments to provide a little maturity when it comes to exceptional writing [33]
  •       Signs of being a true successor to the original show, including the middle school from the misguided reboot [44]
  •       Likely signs of being a prequel to the forthcoming live-action pilot [1] [27]
I am always up for new interpretations of childhood shows, as long as they do not end up being hazardously misguided. I am not saying that another reboot of The Powerpuff Girls will definitely happen after 2022, but it is fascinating to discuss what could have been changed to make entertainment more entertaining. Besides, a reboot taking full responsibility for the flaws of the original would work for a new film series based on the Twilight Saga [95], right?
And so once again, an article has been written! Thanks to…Laura Amy Williams! [3]
