Being A Helluva Hazbin Before And After The Holidays

My sinful desire to become what some lost souls would call a “hazbean” began with my first review of “That’s Entertainment”, the pilot for Hazbin Hotel back in 2019 [78] [79]. It then processed when I spotted and proceeded to analyse the trailer for the pilot of Helluva Boss, its sister series [82] [83]. Almost a year after the acclaim of its pilot, Helluva Boss has become a phenomenal dose of sin for its lively animation, fascinating character progressions, variety of songs and utter raunchiness. Quite similarly, some of our fellow PC gamers will soon be bewitched and bewildered at the bigger post-demo outcome of Romancelvania [57] [58], a spookily zany hybrid of Castlevania and Monster Prom [49] [50] [62]. Still bummed about the second part of the Season One finale of Helluva Boss being postponed [4] [84] [85]? We can always keep waiting for the official French dub of “Murder Family”, the first episode of the first season to be released, especially for our dear French hazbeans [18] [19]. Furthermore, consider this blog post a bonus after the hard work I have put into reviewing most of the first season and the second season so far before the Christmas break [84] [85] [87] [88]. Besides, Princess Deadpool must be a hazbean too [1] [2]! 

It was not long until this year’s Black Friday merchandise sales progressed with more profitable cred for hyped-up hazbeans [32] [37]. I do not doubt that there will be some more outstanding designs in 2023. [37]

ANGRY BUFF DEVIL IN THE FRENCH DUB IS ANGRY!!! Oh. And oui, he hired them [82] [83]. [34]

An episode of the Hazbin Hotel television series might be a Christmas special next year [80] [81]. I will admit that despite that parody of “Holly Jolly Christmas” by Burl Ives I wrote starring the cast of Hazbin Hotel in late 2021 [28] [66] [77], I somewhat questioned the logic of our beloved demons celebrating Christmas in Hell during the Black Friday 2022 merchandise sales [32], quite like how The Flintstones celebrated Christmas, even before the birth of Jesus Christ unless one believes that it actually takes place after the events of The Jetsons [14] [30] [65], but I always find new merchandise delightful in terms of design [32] [37]. Maybe the reason for the celebration of Christmas being present in Hell is that only one denomination of Christianity will lead a soul to Heaven. Besides, in South Park, Mormonism is the correct religion [63]. Additionally, Christmas Time was celebrated in Hell as we could tell by a jolly carol sung by Satan [59]. Moreover, fans of The Cuphead Show hopped onto the Character Development Express as they watched the longest episode of The Cuphead Show [9]. As some ongoing appreciation for Vivienne Medrano’s work outside of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, we can all wish the incredibly touching short silent film known as “Holidaze” a happy third anniversary [36].

I will never get sick of Moxxie and Millie’s happy and hellish marriage [34] [35]. And who knows when Blitzo will finally develop genuinely romantic feelings for Stolas? The precious owl daddy deserves a happy second marriage he chooses to make happen [15] [84] [85], even if it involves rick rolling [6]. [32]

Yes. I believe a Christmas special will be possible in the Hazbin Hotel TV series due to the fact that Medrano has done Christmas-themed artwork of older designs of the characters in the past [38]. [39]

Will the writing for the second season of Helluva Boss be improved for some of us [74]? I have nothing against a hazbean preferring the continuity of the pilot and the old Voxtagram images over the continuity of the first and second seasons [5] [33], especially if they have found the writing of the first two episodes of the second season flawed [87] [88]. Speaking of Voxtagram, there was a greatly missed opportunity to reboot the official Instagram account based on Octavia, considering its reappearance in “Seeing Stars” [5] [35] [87] [88]. Along with two cliffhangers from the first season being solved, which is the most essential to me, the rest of the second season ought to focus back on Blitzo’s seemingly illegal but thrillingly antiheroic business at some point [33] [72]. There still ought to be engaging character developments to keep the characters likeable and interesting outside of their notable traits first shown in the pilot, in spite of their flaws [12] [33]. Aside from the nostalgia we will have for what is not considered only partially or no longer canon [5] [33], there is always hope for what is still canon to be even better in terms of a specific aspect whilst maintaining the undeniable excellence of others [3] [74] [87] [88].

I am still up for some of the old Voxtagram stories being adapted into a third season with notable differences to fit into the canon continuity [5]. I can imagine Stella’s old design being a skin for her in an official Helluva Boss fighting game [34]. Aside from that, I wonder what tea would make my owl daddy do next [71]? [10]

As I have stated before, there is speculation of the continuity of “That’s Entertainment” being partially redundant due to the redesigns of several characters, along with new voice actors [22] [33] [80] [81]. During the celebration of Halloween, the redesigns of three overlords whose names begin with “V” were revealed [17]. Valentino is, without a doubt, the most controversial Hazbin Hotel character so far [20] [21], disturbingly similar to Sexual Offender Man [8] [42], even though there are some exceptional voice acting works that convincingly bring his character to life [7] [46] [47] [48]. As for his redesign, there is not much change, except that the tip of the feather on his hat is now heart-shaped [17]. Velvet’s name has been changed to “Velvette’s” and her design is most drastic [5] [22] [24] [33]. As for Vox, his head was originally going to resemble an older-styled television set as a sign that he died in the 1950s [25]. in his updated design for a modern adult audience, could his relationship with Valentino still be abusive [5]? I am aware that a pilot is hardly ever classified as part of a series’ continuity due to how there would be eventual agreements to make seemingly necessary changes for an even better outcome, but there is still nothing wrong with preferring specific aspects from a pilot over the changes for the first season [80] [81]. 

Could some other old Voxtagram stories be adapted into the Hazbin Hotel television series with notable differences for copyright reasons aside from some new and fresh stories of sinners seeking redemption [5] [80] [81]? Could there be a reboot once the television series runs [80] [81]? I sure hope the Angel Dust will eventually be free from Valentino [20] [21]. [17]

Do you suppose that there will be any further LGBTQIA+ representation in both cartoons? It is possible that Andrealphus will be gay [23], just like his brother-in-law [34], but perhaps he could also be biromantic as biromantic homosexuals are just as valid [53]. It could be possible that Angel Dust is not only gay with some bi-curiosity but also demiromantic due to his constant sex jokes and dedication to his career as a porn star [22] [29] [33] [78] [79]. Perhaps there could be some asexual representation in a new episode, like the brief but rather convincing asexual representation from Alastor in Hazbin Hotel and the portrayal of Todd Chavez’s asexuality in BoJack Horseman [40]. I would be delighted to see Octavia officially come out as an asexual lesbian to increase of cast’s diversity even further [70]. On the other hand, she could come out as aroace, which could also apply to Sonic the Hedgehog [44] [51] [52] [64]. I am also up for an official non-binary character who uses They/Them pronouns [41], much like how I am up for an interpretation of Kaa in a new adaption of The Jungle Book who is non-binary [67] [86]. Who knows how well new aspects of characters’ sexualities and identities be portrayed in the depths of Hell? 

The Tick and Crystal Angel, my own Marvel character are also asexual [40] [69], so I guess they could sympathise with Alastor to ONLY that degree [22] [33]. Fancy a rick roll from the radio demon [6]? [54]

Hopefully, the slight inconsistency of Stolas and Blitzo’s relationship between the events of “Ozzie’s” and “Seeing Stars” will be fixed in the eventually released second part of the Season One finale or a new episode of the second season [35] [87] [88]. And speaking of homosexuality, are Zim and Garfield still together [45]? [35]

I believe that I shall retire from Twitter eventually due to its toxicity [68], even though I am grateful for the compassion I have received on the platform outside of the negativity [26] [27]. In addition to a lighter note, there will be a lot more festive cheers this December besides a Wishentine’s Day with our bronies and pegasisters on Netflix [75] [76]. Apart from having no shame in his nakedness, Stolas of the Ars Goetia sure would not look foolish in a Naughty jumper, even when he is on the Nice list [55] [56]. I am considering reviewing the third episode of the second season of Helluva Boss separately due to the confirmation of episodes taking longer to produce, compared to the first season [73] [84] [85]. Aside from hopes for the writing of the second season to improve, it seems likely that the Hazbin Hotel television series will be available on Netflix, just like all three seasons of The Cuphead Show [43]. In the meantime, a certain merc with a mouth is yet to keep on rapping outside of his occupation as a mercenary and his little Laurapop shall continue to write zany song parodies [11] [31] [77], even if the progress will require some collaboration [13]. I hope my loyal readers and followers will have a Merry Christmas this December.

Shout-out to Andrei Thomas for drawing Stolas in his adorable MobéBuds style! I cannot wait to see more drawings done by him in the 2023 season [60]. I especially cannot wait for more songs in the second season of Helluva Boss [15] [35] [54] [87] [88]. [61]

A Winter Wishday Awaits In The Fifth Generation Of My Little Pony

Twilight Sparkle’s appearance in the second episode of My Little Pony: Make Your Mark as a hologram was quite a humbling shout-out to the Friendship Is Magic era [15] [17] [22] [31] [42], quite like how the continuation of the Polly Pocket Keepsake Collection is two more humble shout-outs to fans of the old school Polly Pocket era [55]. After a cliffhanger in the ninth episode was commenced [17], a new trailer for My Little Pony: Winter Wishday and a sneak peek of it have been released to bring on some potential to be a Christmas special [47] [48]. I know what you are thinking. Really, Laura? It is not December yet! Why discuss a Christmas special? Well, some of us had already begun our Christmas shopping and there are already some new Christmas adverts, including the one from Asda starring Buddy the Elf [1]. Secondly, My Little Pony: Winter Wishday is yet to be released next week. After many Poké players congratulate Ash Ketchum on becoming a World Champion in Pokémon Ultimate Journeys [53] [54], I shall proceed to discuss what is next in the third chapter for our bronies and pegasisters who consider themselves admirers of the fifth generation of the My Little Pony franchise [13] [23] [47] [48]. 

Playing the My Little Pony app during my college days certainly did not give me the mentality of a six-year-old [15]. Moreover, I do not have to “toughen up” just because someone told me to. I can simply be kind, rational and stronger than some people would think I am, even after World Kindness Day [60]. [47]

The summary of the special is that the Mane Five have different goals associated with traditions for the Equestria equivalent of Christmas called “Wishentine’s Day” [23] [47] [48]. Zipp Storm and Pipp Petals, the two royal sisters are seen flying together during a ceremony, showing some dedication to a royal duty as their goal is to make it to Zephyr Heights just in time for it [47]. Sunny Starscout suggested exchanging gifts under the Wishing Star. Izzy Moonbow hopes to put her hoofmade ornament on the trunk of a large oak tree. Lastly, Hitch Trailblazer has promised Figgy, his grandmother that he would come and see her during the holidays [16]. You can tell that accomplishing all four desires will not escalate quickly as Pipp mentions how long it would take to travel to both Bridlewood and Zephyr Heights [47]. Aside from their hopes to follow their Wishentine’s traditions, even after the long overdue reunion of earth ponies, unicorns and pegasi [5], there is potential for the determinations to achieve then to provide some further character exploration, somewhat like how Eddy got some development outside of his money-making schemes in Ed, Edd n Eddy’s Jingle Jingle Jangle…which only lasted until near the ending [11].

I am delighted that the Mane Five shall be portrayed faithfully in the third chapter as they try and follow their Wishentine’s traditions [23] [48]. [47]

How else will the Mane Five be portrayed in the third chapter aside from their Wishentine’s goals, such as travelling to Zephyr Heights to see Zipp and Pipp perform at the Wishing Time Royal Carousel Concert [47] [48]? Firstly, the moment of the team visiting the residence of the elderly pony who appears to be his grandmother fits the theme of a Christmas special as family gatherings are a part of the Christmas tradition for us humans [16]. To spice things up in an icy climate, the Mane Five must survive a snowstorm in a flying campervan with wings that suddenly freeze [47]. In the sneak peek, Izzy instructs her fellow ponies to imagine a safe place in Zephyr Heights for the campervan to land to elevate a magical ability from her horn that causes a purple aura to protectively surround it, which shows her potential heroism [48]. Hitch is sure to keep being a noble father figure of the adorable baby dragon named “Sparky Sparkeroni” who previously appeared in the Make Your Mark special [45] [61] [62]. Aside from some wholesomeness, the conflict in the trailer and sneak peek shows that the special will be more daring and a little more complex, compared to the Christmas special from 2005 known as “A Very Minty Christmas” [12] [40]. 

 

There could be some backstory on how Sunny Starscout used to exchange gifts under the Wishing Star with her father in a flashback [66] [67]. [47]

Zipp’s duty as the flying campervan’s pilot suits her tomboyish personality. I may want to go back to 2013 sometimes [56], but there is still hope for a great Christmas special next week [47]. [48]

Any further development for the characters in supporting roles in the previous specials or brand new characters? As previously mentioned, the elderly pony is Figgy, Hitch’s grandmare [16] [47]. It is likely that she may just be the generic “sweet and innocent old lady” kind, but there could still be something wholesome and humbling about her appearance in the special. Could Posey Bloom make further amends after her big regret in the Mark Your Mark special, but still be rather cynical at times, compared to her G1 counterpart [21] [28]? As for Sparky who is only a baby and acts a lot more like one, compared to Spike from the Friendship Is Magic era [29], I bet he would be happy to meet Figgy and be a potential adoptive great-grandson to her [16]. Despite her loyalty to Opaline, the main antagonist of the Mark Your Mark series, I hope that Misty will be free from her emotional abuse and be able to happily celebrate Wishentime with the Mane Five as a big step up in her character if she were to make an appearance in the special [19] [20] [34] [45] [46]. Moreover, she could perhaps finally gain a cutie mark in the second season of the Mark Your Mark series [18] [34]. Giving supporting characters some effective relevancy is a sign of fairly good writing.

You mad, Posey [27]? [46]

Will the cliffhanger in “Have You Seen This Dragon?” be solved [18]? Will Misty confidentially join the side of the restoration of diversity since some bad guys eventually became good guys in the Friendship Is Magic era, including Sunset Shimmer [41]? There may not be enough room in the special for such progression, but we can still hope to witness it in the second season of the Mark Your Mark series or another G5 television series. [20]

As an art lover, I simply must discuss the visuals in the trailer and sneak peek. Unlike the film and the previous special, My Little Pony: Winter Wishday is set during Winter [47] [48], just like in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure [52], meaning that there is wonderfully rendered snow in Equestria [47] [48]. Unlike the ponies in Friendship Is Magic [15] [42], the ponies in A New Generation, Make Your Mark, Tell Your Tale and Winter Wishday all clearly have eyebrows [43] [44] [45] [46] [47] [48]. The tree Izzy hopes to place her ornament on is decorated almost entirely like a generic large Christmas tree. The rainbow that shoots from the back of the flying campervan reminds me of…you guessed it! Nyan Cat [26] [50] [51]! Its exterior design is rather imaginative, to say the least, somewhat like how an igloo could possibly be an aeroplane during the Club Penguin days [10]. Each setting is richly detailed, from Grandma Figgy’s residence to the interior of the campervan [47] [48]. Lastly, the designs of the holiday hats the Mane Five are wearing in the campervan are pretty quirky. I cannot help but sense the Christmassy vibes of Olaf’s Frozen Adventure when analysing the trailer for My Little Pony: Winter Wishday [47] [52]. Furthermore, the quality of the animation is top-notch and consistent for today’s standards in 3D animated specials.

Other exceptional details include the steam from the mugs of hot cocoa and the lighting effects during the performance at the Wishing Time Royal Carousel Concert. [47]

Looking at these cookies makes me peckish [47]. However, promise me that you will NOT even think about licking the screen! It was bad enough that Deadpool ate crayons during the time he took over the official Twitter account for promoting Marvel’s Midnight Suns [39]. [47]

Lastly, there will be three new songs in the special [23]. Well, what do you expect? We have only heard two of them in the trailer; “To Grandmare’s House We Go” and “Just Can’t Wait For Wishentine’s Day” [47]. Both songs sound like what you would hear if you were listening to a Christmas song, which would elevate the feeling of watching a Christmas special. They are quite unique on their own accords as the two songs in the previous special are “Let’s Make Our Mark Together”, an upbeat pop song about sharing confidence within friendship and “It’s Gonna Be OK”, another energetic pop song that is about reassurance during a troublesome time [43] [44]. Moreover, there was a small variety of pop songs in different tones and styles that elevated each of the scenarios they begin in throughout A New Generation and made the pro-equality journey more fun [5]. Aside from how I can appreciate the three songs in the upcoming special for being Christmas-themed for the sake of variety [47], I shall hope for a few more songs in the second season of Helluva Boss to be produced in some new styles of music for my fellow sinners with different musical tastes rather than just another acoustic ballad between two imps [8] [9] [38] [72] [73].

If you find any of the songs in the fifth generation of My Little Pony unfavourable, feel free to explain why. Besides, Adam Buckley, also known as “ADoseofBuckley” can make valid points on why he believes a particular song is flawed [6] [7]. [47]

As previously stated, My Little Pony: Winter Wishday will be available on Netflix next week [23] [47] [48]. In the meantime, plenty of our Tama-caretakers can get yet another party started with the upgrade of Tamagotchi Pix known as “Tamagotchi Pix Party” and plenty of fans of the Bratz franchise can feel fabulous with a new collaboration with Glamnetic [2] [3] [24] [25] [59]. I do not doubt that the second season of the My Little Pony: Make Your Mark series or another G5 animated series will take place after its events. More issues of the comic book series await readers in early 2023 [14], quite like how the bigger outcome of Storyteller awaits both gamers and creative writers at that time [70] [71]. And at some point, will there be a new generation of the Littlest Pet Shop franchise or a rehash of the beloved second generation many LPSTubers miss so much [33] [35] [49]? As a pegasister who is always up for a cartoonish craze [65] [68] [69], I shall remain wishful for a good outcome of My Little Pony: Winter Wishday, the shortly upcoming third chapter of the fifth generation. And as a fan of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss [37] [64] [72] [73], I can always tell myself I will be okay [8] [9], even after all the hate I have received this year [32] [64].

I hope everypony will have a Joyful Wishentine’s Day. What could be next? Bendy and the Ink Shark next Halloween [4] [57]? But for now, how about a brohoof [58] [64]? [47]
