Hell Will Be Let Loose In Hazbin Hotel On Television

Disclaimer: This is an article reflecting on a teaser for an animated series that will certainly contain content aimed at mature audiences. Reader discretion is advised.
 
Greetings, fellow hazbeans! In honour of the third anniversary of a pilot titled “That’s Entertainment” [34], it has been hinted that something big related to the story of redemption that is yet to be continued will occur by the talented and inspirational creator, Vivienne Medrano [31], along with the executives at A24 who made a deal with her [64] [65]. That early Halloween treat is no other than a new teaser on her YouTube channel [33]. There is also a revamp of the official website that offers an unfortunate soul to receive a welcome gift and updates by email [11]. I have considered myself a fan of Hazbin Hotel ever since I reviewed the pilot three years ago, keeping my hopes up for the best outcome of what will happen next ever since [62] [63]. Furthermore, I knew that the creative crew at SpindleHorse and A24 would not plan to rush it as you cannot rush art, according to the toy repairman from Toy Story 2 [56]. After a certain mouthy mercenary temporarily took over the official Twitter account for Marvel’s Midnight Suns to somehow earn a place in the roster as part of a post-launch DLC pack [37] [38] [39] [40] [41] [42], I am ready to be teased by the faintly upgraded depths of Hell [33]. 

I had my second bi and pan pride manicure ready for this moment after a little reassurance from some fellow hazbeans [18] [61]. I also hope Medrano had a great helluva birthday [32] [54]. [13]

It was quite puzzling and undoubtedly unexpected to me that some of the voice actors will not return to reprise the roles they were given for the pilot as that would be a sign of the pilot no longer being considered fully canon [22] [24] [27] [29] [34], but I have remained respectful about the sudden changes before Christmas Eve last year [45]. Hell, sometime after my review of the first episode of Helluva Boss [59] [60], I grew to adore Bryce Pinkham’s voice for Prince Stolas of the Ars Goetia [35] [36]. I have no problem with new voices for characters, just as long as they are convincing and fit their traits, along with how exceptional the voice acting will be overall [6]. The old voice actors can always eventually be part of a fanmade project to reprise their roles. It worked in Sonic and Tails R, right [21] [50]? I will look forward to witnessing the official recast and I am willing to give each member a chance at each role in the television series [15], along with who will be voicing Andrealphus in his debut in the second season of Helluva Boss [14] [45]. What is ultimately more important than who voices the characters is their portrayals and extended developments in continuations [33] [64] [65].

There is going to be some sincere determination in the Pride Ring, no matter whose repentance will be heard [12] [33]. It could have been worse. Voice actors could have been leaking spoilers for the events after the pilot. Pffft. Like that will ever happen. There was some speculation of who will take part of the recast last year with potential evidence [46] [53], even though I personally believe that it is always best to wait until the official announcement for the most reliable information. [15]

More importantly, I just hope the same mistake behind the scenes of the pilot will not be made again, no matter how small a role is [10]. Acting upon what to learn from mishaps during the production of a pilot can be associated with the outcome of an official television show being even better [5]. Aside from that, why not provide a little fan service without any spoilers for a little extra income [23]? [15]

Some animated eye candy has been spawned to tempt us like the apple Eve bit into [17]. The only characters to appear in the teaser are Alastor and a new pet-like character named “KeeKee” [12] [33]. KeeKee first appeared in the reveal of Niffty’s new design [15] [16]. In the teaser, she appears near the logo and then dives to the bottom, transforming into the letter “T” that resembles a hotel key [12] [33] [58]. This is indeed symbolic in a surreal manner because of her name [16]. Speaking of symbolism, some fellow hazbeans with excellent attention to detail have spotted some faint emblems representing the characters at the edges of the logo [20]. Aside from how I still wonder how good Alastor could be at ASMR, I sure felt welcome when I joined the livestream of him playing Quiplash 2 during the Easter break [4]. I bet he shall keep an eye out for Gora Killiams and be a gentleman to Lisa Cooper soon. As for the teaser, he is seen grinning as the screen begins to distort as a call-back to his introduction in the pilot [33] [34]. Keeping the animation in the top-notch quality from the pilot with a small upgrade alongside the new character designs is sure to rock each viewer’s socks [15] [64] [65].

I am still rather curious if Keekee will befriend Fat Nuggets or not [64] [65]. Will there be any more pets at the hotel, quite like in The Sims 2: Apartment Pets [9]? There is also an alternate version of the logo in a different colour palette, most notably on the official Hazbin Hotel Twitter account [13]. [15]

Somebody hold out a hand! Alastor is dealing by the front doors! WHOOOOOA-OH [48]! [33]

I cannot praise such a unique premise of sinners being rehabilitated for a place in Heaven enough [15] [34]. I do not doubt that Lucifer Morningstar, Charlie’s father could establish paroles for guests at the hotel who are considered “redeemed” [17]. Too bad Cruella De Vil’s second chance was eventually blown in 102 Dalmatians [1]. The theme of redemption and not taking a second chance for granted worked fantastically in Spider-Man: No Way Home [52]. I believe that the way Lucifer is a separate character from Satan is partially inspired by what Jehovah’s Witnesses believe about him [17] [43]. I think Devil Zebby would be a great brother-like figure to him [25] [26]. As for those who succeed at redeeming themselves, perhaps some alternate destinations can be Kolob, the planet God lives on, according to Mormonism or the afterlife paradise believed by Jehovah’s Witnesses [3] [43] [47]. However, it would be important to not portray any aspects of specific religions in a way that would be considered too insensitive to avoid scrutiny and even death threats [57]. The way a sinner, most notably Angel Dust will eventually earn a place in Heaven would be much like how Wade Wilson gained the heroicness to see a deceased Vanessa Carlysle in Deadpool 2 [8] [34].

One of the reasons why I am personally not a religious person is because of the question I would often ask myself, “What if I am following the wrong denomination?” [28] [30] [43] [44]. I am sure that plenty of my fellow agnostics feel the same way. [34]

As a sinner who reviewed the pilot twice, I am very excited about the television series that is set to air in Summer 2023 [12] [13] [15] [33]. It is highly likely that it will be available on Netflix [64] [65], but could it air on Paramount+, Amazon Prime, FX or Hulu instead [2]? I can understand that some hazbeans could remain pilot purists but I shall not judge them for that as we have already been judged for our sins before ending up in the VivziePop circles of Hell [34]. But before the next chapter of Charlie Morningstar’s business, our Sonic supporters will be speeding up with Sonic the Hedgehog as he teams up with new interpretations of his friends in an alternate universe in Sonic Prime on Netflix [49] [51]. As for Hazbin Hotel, I will be looking forward to not only the television series but more of the second season of Helluva Boss [12] [13] [33] [36] [70] [71]. Who knows? The stars of Gogglebox might react to the first episode of the television series [7]. Grateful for those who have supported me throughout the years [19], I shall continue to be the writer I am today [66] [67] [70] [71]. Have a happy and hellish Halloween tomorrow night, fellow sinners! Just do not eat any crayons like Deadpool did [38].
