The Third Trailer For The Second Season Of Helluva Boss

The marketing for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, along with the productions of Deadpool & Wolverine, formerly referred to as “Deadpool 3” and Venom: The Last Dance, formerly referred to as “Venom 3” were affected by the SAG Strikes that began on the 13^th of July 2023 [18] [48] [92] [93] [119]. But before that, it was confirmed that there would be a total of a dozen episodes of the second season of Helluva Boss [37]. Later at the end of that July, Vivienne Medrano, the series’ creator revealed the names of the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth episodes of the second season on X, formerly known as “Twitter” [54]. After the demonic performances in “Unhappy Campers”, “Oops”, a mid-season special, a music video and a short [59] [61] [70] [72] [73], let us discuss what was revealed in the third trailer for the second season that was revealed at this year’s LVL UP EXPO in Las Vegas and express some hopes [66]. Moreover, a trailer for the next five episodes is essential to not only market them but to stick to what has been officially confirmed without misleading loyal sinners. We have suspected that proactivity can continue to flourish for months, especially after the end of the SAG Strikes [48] [92].

For a while, I have suspected that the third Season Two trailer would be revealed at this year’s LVL UP EXPO in Las Vegas [66] [117] [118], much like how the second trailer was revealed at the convention last year [130] [131]. That way, the overall advertising for the second season would remain consistent. It has been a month since the trailer’s release and I deeply apologise for being late to the hype party [66]. Nevertheless, let us recap on what we have analysed at the time [124] [125]. [66]

Let us discuss what has been revealed in the trailer near the end of April and express some new hopes [66]. It begins with a group of hooded figures before it cuts to the I.M.P. van that crashes due to Blitzo’s recklessness. As we suspect after some of us have witnessed a sneak peek of “Full Moon” at LVL UP Expo [8], it will be about Stolas and Blitzo breaking up after quite a long time of one-sided lust [66]. In addition, he is seen yelling about how the upper class tends to look down on the imps and how he feels like an object as hinted during his venting to Fizzarolli in “Oops” [61]. However, we see a moment of him defending the prince like a knight later on as a sign that he has softened up to him, possibly before the breakup [66]. It also seems like he will try to make amends with his famous ex-girlfriend, along with the bird he has seduced in the following episode. A big step-up of his character would be how he blames himself for his tarnished relationships but does not want to be his own worst enemy forever, yet he can still be impulsive and devious when it comes to being one helluva boss [122] [123] [124] [125].

He may be snarky, yes. And not a pimp…
But the one thing he’s not is, yeah, the one thing he’s not, I said the one thing he’s not is a scaredy [35]... [66]

Wait a minute! Is he possessed by a ghost in this freaky shot [66]?! Aside from that possibility, there also seems to be a moment of his teenage self crying as he is comforted by his mother in a flashback scene, which might explain how he was able to attend a community college at some point in his adulthood after his parents got divorced [128] [129]. I mean, Cash Buckzo is a terrible person [68]. [66]

Before the release of the third trailer for the second season, we saw Mildred Knolastname have a girls’ day out with her sister in the first-ever mini-episode of Helluva Shorts [72] [117] [118]. It looks like there will be a flashback of how she first met Blitzo as she is seen with longer hair during a brawl with him [66] [124] [125]. Speaking of flashbacks, I would be cuted out by Millie as a tot in another flashback scene, like how we were cuted out by Baby Stolas in “The Circus” [68], as well as a flashback of how she fell in love with Moxxie as a young adult [101]. In the present, the full-grown Millie with shorter hair we know and adore is seen in a cool new outfit as she corrects her boss who mistakes an elderly couple for some ghosts [66]. I believe at least one new episode can be respectfully centred on a female character besides the focus on Millie and Sallie May in “Hell’s Belles” written by Morgana Ignis to further prove that the series is not toxically misogynistic [117] [118]. It worked for that one episode of Camp Lazlo set entirely in the Squirrel Scout camp [26], right? An example of such progress can be some development Verosika Mayday which will be explained later [66].

At some point, Millie will appear looking quite wrecked and confront Blitzo about his failed companionships [66]. This could be a moment of how even she sees something wrong about him. On the other four-fingered hand, could this be part of some new hallucinations [69]? [66]

I still wonder when there will be a big moment when Moxxie and Loona can put their work-related conflicts aside, even though the pilot and Voxtagram stories are not considered canon [63] [77] [128] [129]. We previously saw Moxxie smiling at his wife and sister-in-law laughing together after their girls’ day out [72] [117] [118]. I am aware that Moxxie has received plenty of character progression throughout the first season and in “Exes and Oohs” [57] [60] [69], but something in the rest of the second season could make up for how some more of it was a little corrupted by some depth for Millie in “Unhappy Campers” to some of us, despite how he made up for his jealousy [70] [117] [118]. Apart from how he still gets aggravated at Blitzo as proven at the start of the trailer, he is still a competent fighter as proven in some shots [66]. Hopefully, there can be more speaking roles for Loona if the budget and motivation for that is there [17] [57] [64] [67] [71]. There must be some time to make up for her being a little out-of-character in “Western Energy” and upgrade her back to how effective her portrayal is in “Queen Bee” [64] [71], right? An unlikely bond between Moxxie and Loona can always occur in a future episode in the third or fourth season if such an opportunity is missed in any of the five upcoming episodes [63] [77].

“I f***ing hate you so much, Blitzo.” - Moxxie, 2024. [66]

Despite her lack of respect for her colleagues since the days of the pilot and Voxtagram stories [63] [77], Loonie could sense some Sinsmas spirit for a reason that will be explained later [66]. Such efforts to bring her back likability from “Queen Bee” could seem like she is simply not being “rewritten out of nowhere” [64]. [77]

As hinted on Medrano’s Instagram gallery back in June [51], the eighth episode titled “The Full Moon” will be centred around Stolas’ recovery from the horrific stabbing in “Western Energy” or have a scene of him being hungover [7] [71]. The sneak peek was later shown as a sneak peek of his almost throwing up in bed [5]. As for what has been revealed in the trailer, he is seen reading a book in a new shirt that could be after a breakup and singing on stage in between Verosika and Vortex on a stage with a curtain bashing Blitzo [66]. As much as I would love a moment of Stolas summoning a fortune [83], I would be up for him becoming an even better character with not an ounce of a toxic victim mentality [68] [71] [73]. This is hinted by how he reflects on the toxicity of his affair with the Blitzster in the sneak peek of the musical number in “Full Moon” [8]. Murder Family” gave us proof of some exchange on a full moon night [60], but it seems like his highness will call off the deal at the end of “Full Moon” [8] [66]. My owl daddy deserves a fulfilling new chapter and I hope that he does not die because I REALLY do not want him to [71] [88] [126] [127] [128] [129]!

Surely, on his next date, Stolas can carry a handbag stylised after him…before he finds someone else who is good in bed [1] [44]. But more importantly, it is likely that he will make efforts to be a better person when it comes to his homosexuality, especially after it comes to realising that his affair with Blitzo was established for all the wrong reasons [66] [73]. Perhaps they could get back together eventually, but under certain conditions, leading to some genuinely romantic and wholesome moments [96] [97]. Man, can you imagine the current progressions of the characters reacting to their pilot counterparts [2] [33] [61] [63]? [66]

Looks like there will be more to the Ars Goetia family than a f***ing divorce [68]. How does Octavia know about I.M.P. [32]? Could that be explained in one of the upcoming episodes? In the trailer, she is seen looking down as she holds a purple flame and is heard venting to her father that he loves an imp over her and Stella [66]. As one of the most sympathetic characters in the series, Via’s development ought to bounce back from how cluttered the plot of “Seeing Stars” seemed [67]. It seems that Vassago will be a supporting character and possibly a new love interest for Stolas instead of another antagonist, yet he appears to be another member of the Ars Goetia [39] [66]. He might be able to see the future, just like Alice Cullen from the Twilight Saga and show more of what he is made of in the third season [16] [105]. As hopeful as I am for Stolas to keep being a great father to his starfire aside from his parenting mistakes [58] [67], despite how many of us have a feeling that there might be a custody battle at some point in the third season that is currently in development [6], I hope that Vassago’s role will leave some good impact on us aside from his cool character design, whether he or Blitzo will be a potential step-father figure to Via [66].

This particular moment of a venting Via could be a new musical number, but more on what some new songs will be like will be discussed later. [66]

I am highly curious about Vassago’s personality, as noble as it seems as he asserts the need to summon Stolas [39] [66]. The red avian is voiced by Harvey Gullién who also voiced Perrito in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish [16] [39] [87]. I bet he will result in some new cosplays [93]. [66]

Surely, there can be some room for several other characters’ progressions in either the rest of the second season or more Helluva Shorts, even for the bad guys. For how he treated Moxxie throughout “The Harvest Moon Festival” and how he tried to kill off Stolas in “Western Energy”, I hoped that Striker would get his just desserts [71], just about as much as I want Katie Killjoy to get a dose of karma for how she treated Charlie in the pilot of Hazbin Hotel…and it looks like he got it in “Oops” [61] [115] [116]. So much for how he would play hide-and-seek with another captive [111]. But still, I am up for him meeting Gora Killiams, my impsona soon. Aside from the possibility of Striker striking back at the right time, I just wonder what Martha and Mrs. Mayberry from the first episode of the first season would be up to now that they are currently residing in Hell [60]? A catfight? I also wonder how Eddie from the pilot is doing after his demise, despite it no longer being considered canon [63] [122] [123]. Wherever those sinners are now, I still sense potential in Striker being in a relationship with Stella in the next Helluva Short or in a future episode as they are no saints [36].

I know that Striker is nowhere in the entire third Season Two trailer [66], but chances are that he could make a surprise appearance during a big conflict and there could be a new minisode of Helluva Shorts centred on him and how he was hired by Stella [71]. [71]

Who let the villains out? Andrealphus is to return in a future episode to possibly be a more effective antagonist and debunk the allegations of him being incestuous towards Stella, along with some further explanation for why he caused her to cancel Striker’s murder attempt [66] [71] [100] [126] [127]. He appears to be quite powerful as you can tell by the moment when he is about to go evil ice king on somebody [66]. And speaking of Stella, she is seen at the Marquis’ ice palace again. I guess it is not a good idea to make Lisa Cooper like a mother to the C.H.E.R.U.B. after all as they appear to be teaming up with D.H.O.R.K.S. to try and get revenge on the I.M.P. [114]. It looks like there will not only be a new outfit for Verosika Mayday but also some possible depth for her as she encounters her ex-boyfriend once again [66]. Oh! And let us not forget about the return of Mammon who was simply a terrible boss to Fizzarolli, much to Asmodeus’ disapproval in the mid-season special he debuted in [59]. Let us not “imp” or “goetia” this or that demon as we yearn to see more of these antagonists, yet chances are that Verosika will evolve into a former antagonist [66], just like how Fizzarolli did in “Oops” [61]. 

Andrealphus is going full-on powerful peacock in this shot [66]! He might go from a potential anti-villain to another flat-out foe, which could also add to the slight problem with too many baddies, but his motives for making Stella call off Striker’s attempt to killing Stolas could be explained [71] [126] [127]. [66]

It looks like the cliffhanger at the end of “Truth Seekers” will finally be solved as the D.H.O.R.K.S. works with three fallen cherubs [69]. [66]

We suspect that the new human character the I.M.P. meets on what seems like a ghost hunt is a disguised Leviathan, the ruler of the Envy Ring [66] [124] [125], which would be a little coincidental on behalf of the author of “The Train To The Envy Ring”, a fanfiction written in Striker’s perspective [132]. Oh wait! That’s me! Speaking of demons from the Wrath Ring, a mysterious interpretation of Satan has sparked my curiosity [66] [124] [124]. He could be the opposite of how Lucifer turned out to be in the first season of Hazbin Hotel; personality-wise [120] [121], but possibly have a son, thus being based on the father figure in Son Of 666 [76]. The possibility of Satan and the new guy adding to the series’ slight problem with having too many antagonists is concerning, but they seem likely to not be as controversial as Stella, Barbie-Wire and Valentino from Hazbin Hotel [9] [68] [70]. Aside from the reveal of some new sinister beings, it was such a thrill to hear that Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla from Smosh are the voices of two upcoming new characters near the end of August [12], but will they be another pair of foes like Glitz and Glam from a mid-season special or two whacky allies like Lyle Lipton and Loopity Goopity from “C.H.E.R.U.B.” [56] [59]?

What if...Lisa Cooper sold her soul to Satan instead of Lucifer [114]?! That could result in her hair being not only blood red but also having ends or streaks in a fiery shade of orange. [66]

And HOLY SH**!! THIS NEW GUY LOOKS AS SCARY AS F*** HERE!! [66]

The seventh episode is a special went by the name of “MAMMON’S MAGNIFICENT MUSICAL MID-SEASON SPECIAL”, which is quite an alliterative mouthful to me, but it is one of the absolute best episodes of the series for many reasons [59]. Will there be any other episodes considered “specials”? Well, “Sinsmas” sounds like Hell’s equivalent of Christmas [66]. I suspect that “Ghostf**kers” will be sort of a parody of the Ghostbusters films [124] [125]. Could one ghost to f**k…ummm…I mean bust be Chazwick [57] [91]? Well, there is a clawing hand that looks like his. But what if...a floating shopping list will be summoned [46] [106]?! Are they sure “Mastermind” is not a reference to that quiz show by the same name [23]? I am pleased that there will be one episode a month or two throughout the rest of the second season [66], despite how misleading the first trailer turned out to be due to delays and how only two episodes, including the arguably least acclaimed one, were released in 2022 [66] [68] [69]. Furthermore, I would appreciate it if one would not shoehorn how bad the writing can be to me when I have firmly stated that I do not want a relapse of how imprisoned I felt in the creepypasta fandom several times and I have pointed out what aspects of the series’ writing I considered less favourable within independent thinking [124] [125].

Despite the accusations of Hazbin Hotel being insensitive towards the uses of voodoo and antisemitic regarding Mimzy’s design [120] [121], I certainly do not condone any racism or classism from any fictional characters. Besides, Val-Yor ought to listen to Stan and Trixie…before they haunt his dreams [24] [103]. There is a message in the Alfred’s Playhouse trilogy about being in your safe space away from your problems too often [27], yet it is overshadowed by excessive shock value and how controversial the creator turned out to be [29] [111] [112], even though she still deserves a little praise for condemning minors becoming fans to suddenly be preyed on and making a PSA regarding the issue [3]. Can we please not refer to transgenderism a “harmful ideology” in a transphobic manner though [117] [118]? Surely, several stars of the Hellaverse can take some reasonable criticism regarding writing. Besides, it is not like they are going to jump out of the screen and trash your residence [107] [108]. [66]

There are Seven Rings of Hell, quite like how there are seven levels of Jahannam, according to Islam [80]. The only ring that has not appeared in the series yet is the Envy Ring. Since the other six rings have their signature colours, from red for the Pride Ring to pink for the Sloth Ring, it can be said that the Envy Ring’s signature colour will be purple as hinted at Elevator 666 in “Ozzie’s” [38] [62]. Some of us are pretty sure that is probably Stolas’ favourite colour [95]. I would also like to see a little more of the Sloth Ring besides St. Ann’s and the rehabilitation centre as I like how its signature colour is pink. Reflecting on the expansion of Imp City discovered during a sisters’ day out in the mini-episode of Helluva Shorts [72], could there be an all-pink shopping centre in the Sloth Ring [81]? As previously mentioned, it looks like Satan, the representative of Wrath, Leviathan, the representative of Envy and possibly Belphegor, the representative of Sloth will be introduced since two of these ring rulers were mentioned by Beelzebub in “Queen Bee” [21] [64] [124] [125], as well as new locations in the other rings as hinted on the back of a familiar T-shirt and its green counterpart from the Black Friday merchandise sales [4] [74] [75]. Possibly along with some more wholesomeness from Fizzarozzie [34] [59] [61], I cannot wait to see more of the seven rings of Hell [38].

Ever since I first reviewed “That’s Entertainment”, the pilot for Hazbin Hotel, I suspected that there could be references to beliefs in other religions besides denominations of Christianity [78] [79] [114] [115], but without resulting in a certain form of endangerment [109]. The fires of Hell will still be roaring, but wouldn’t the volcanic orbs in the Wrath Ring cause some hellborns to get sunburnt like I was in Cornwall six years ago [37] [40] [109] [116] [117]? Well, they each look quite like the sun. As for the Envy Ring, as previously mentioned, I suspect that there will be many dashes of purple [37]. And speaking of dashes of purple, I just hope I will not be cursed by another avian demon in Hell, as charming as he would seem with his seductive voice [84]. [37]

As usual, animating a Helluva Boss character seems about as complex as how flight attendants would tie their scarves [41]. The characters in every moment revealed in the trailer move dynamically and expressively, which shows that the quality of the animation is still top-notch [66]. There is a moment of silhouettes of Stolas and Blitzo explaining the progression of their relationship, from when they played together as children to a dramatic breakup and quite a lot of special effects, such as smoke from the crashed I.M.P. van and flames behind Andrealphus and Vassago. I have a feeling that some moments in the trailer may get some visual alterations in the episodes they appear in [86], just like how some scenes in most of the first season were after they were revealed in its trailer back in 2021 [65] [67]. Aside from new attire worn by Stolas, Verosika and Millie [66], perhaps there can be some more occasional outfits for characters to enrich the series’ creativity, such as a formal gown or winter coat for Stella [90]. You do not suppose that there will be a live-action scene featuring the puppets created by Maggie Roberge who appeared in “Blitzo VS Grandpa” [89], no? Even though it is not as illuminating in terms of combining historical realism with cuteness for furries and devoted cat owners as Lackadaisy [49] [50], the colourful and bizarre rings of Hell and the living world in Helluva Boss are always worth sinking your eyes into [66].

There is also a televised palette for a sequence of tragic flashbacks in Blitzo’s perspective that reflection on how his relationships crashed and burned [66]. Here is what appears to be a reference to "Ozzie's" [62]. I suspect that this moment will be similar in terms of his personal reflections to the hallucination he had in “Truth Seekers” [69]. [66] 

Ummm...why does Fizzarolli have a highly suggestive-looking contraption? Well, he lives in the Lust Ring with its lord after all [60] [61]. Moreover, he is demisexual [26], so I guess it will be reserved. Should I censor this or is the pixelation doing the censorship for me? [66]

Previously, we were thrilled by Stolas singing like a Disney princess and Blitzo rapping like Eminem in the sneak peek revealed at LVL UP Expo this year [8]. There appears to be another ballad as the lanky prince sings on a stage in another upcoming epiosde [66]. Perhaps another new song in the rest of the second season can be called “Hear Me Out” as that was the title of some sheet music on one of the images from the archived Instagram account for Octavia, just as long as that will not result in any likely copyright issues or cause riff between Medrano and the team [22] [29]. As for the confirmation of the new official Little Stolas and Little Blitzo plushies providing the ability to play a tune when squeezed quite a while ago, there could be versions of the two tunes that provide lyrics sung by the children in the episode they return in to give them a bigger purpose in the show [42] [43]. I would love to see Stolas raise a quartet of venus flytraps that can sing like the Barbershop Quartet from Cuphead in the next minisode of Helluva Shorts or two to make up for the lack of a musical number in “Hell’s Belles” [122] [123]. Besides my owl daddy and the Blitzster’s duet [8], some new songs ought to increase the variety of music genres that the series goes for.

I cannot wait to hear Stolas sing like a fallen angel in what appears to be the musical number in “Apology Tour” as he performs on stage in between Verosika and Vortex [66]. Perhaps there can be another new song sung by Loona at some point [84]. As always, I have every right to tune into the song whenever I feel like this world simply continues to ruin the meaning of autism and the lives of innocent autistic people [30] [46]. At least I am engaged to a man who is not only on the spectrum like I am but also a real love interest [44]. [66]

We can also hold our hopes up high for the third and fourth seasons of Helluva Boss, as well as some more Helluva Shorts [11] [12] [72]. I would also like to see more of Sallie May as I admired her debut in “The Harvest Moon Festival” and her second appearance in “Hell’s Belles” is a step up from just a few short one-note appearances of a transgender character in an episode [117] [118]. Perhaps a new episode in the third or fourth season can take place on Octavia’s eighteenth birthday, leading to some new development when it comes to discovering the very first steps towards adulthood, even after skating on the rings of Saturn [102]. After all, she is one of the very few characters to be seen at different ages in the first and second seasons [58] [67]. I sure hope that a private school Octavia would attend (for realism purposes) in an alternate timeline will not be too much of a clichéd and rather unimaginative Waterloo Road wannabe [122] [123] [128] [129]. The confirmation of the third and fourth seasons in development was enlightening as a sign of ambition [11] [12], but a little concerning due to the risk of rushing, resulting in numerous faults in terms of writing.

In a recent interview, Medrano confirmed that she would love to produce about six seasons of Hazbin Hotel [20]. In the meantime, we have the rest of the second season of Helluva Boss to watch throughout the rest of 2024 and we have our hopes high for the third and fourth ones [11] [12], along with more shorts that can provide some new opportunities. I can understand wanting to “fix” some issues with previous episodes though [98]. [66]

In conclusion, five new episodes of the second season of Helluva Boss have the potential to be about as exceptional as “Exes and Oohs”, “Oops” and a mid-season special in terms of character development [57] [59] [61] [66]. I may have become a little more critical of Helluva Boss throughout the second half of 2022 and the first half of 2023 as you may have noticed at some point [126] [127], but that is okay as I can still consider it a sanctuary, right? Some might say that the series should have been given a little more time to be developed before its first season’s launch in late 2020 due to how muddled its lore seems [12], but I believe that I shall be starstruck at the rest of the second season’s outcome, starting with “Full Moon” possibly tomorrow [19]. It looks like 2024 will continue to be an even better year for SpindleHorse [66]. I shall also look forward to the rest of the first season of Lackadaisy and the rest of the second season of Helluva Boss [49] [50] [66], as well as a teaser for the second season of Hazbin Hotel as plenty of my fellow simmers set up some new sceneries with the new Cozy Bistro and Riviera Retreat kits for The Sims 4 [25] [104] [124] [125]. Stay sinful!

In my opinion, the third trailer for the second season is the best one yet [66]. Perhaps Helluva Boss could win another award as the series continues to progress [51] [52]. I wonder who else will be made into Youtooz figures [133]? The Lord of the Lust Ring [59] [61] [62]? [133]

Again, I may be about a month late to analyse the third Season Two trailer, but better late than never, I guess [66]. I had my new red, yellow and navy blue manicure ready for this analysis. “Full Moon” will probably rise from the depths of development tomorrow, making me hope that my favourite character in the series will strive to be a better birdie and I cannot wait to watch it [19] [82] [99]. More importantly, please keep wishing the ex-employees of SpindleHorse, including Erin Frost all the best without any bitterness towards them whatsoever [15]. [66]
