Hooked On Helluva Boss For A Second Season

Cosplaying as Hello Kitty, I met a few Helluva Boss cosplayers, including Spidersica as Fizzarolli on one of the happiest days of 2022 for me [16] [17] [78] [79]. During the Easter break, I posted a poll on Twitter asking my fellow hazbeans which will be released first: The official French dub of “Murder Family”, the bonus chapter of the season finale of Helluva Boss or the official trailer for Hazbin Hotel on television [113]. We also beheld the Spring 2022 and Summer 2022 merchandise sales to help fund the show [47] [60]. As I continue to be a simmer after becoming a Mac user to at least gain access to re-experiencing those good old times again [4], I shall give in to the sinful temptation of reviewing the first episode of the second season of Helluva Boss in honour of much-needed proactivity [25] [46] [56] [57]. It was hinted that the episodes in the second season will be longer than most of the ones in the first, thus providing some more room for more character development and so on [21] [30]. 2022 has been quite a year for second seasons as there have been second seasons for Green Eggs and Ham on Netflix and the revival of iCarly on Paramount Plus, along with some others [29] [66] [119] [120]. 

We finally felt the heat of a new chapter in Hell at the end of July [25] [46] [56]. It looks like we will have to wait for a bonus episode of the first season for a little longer due to some legal troubles [31]. It may be odd to see the premiere of the second season before the proposed conclusion of the first one, but I am still grateful to finally see more Helluva Boss after so long, along with the honest confirmation of “Ozzie’s” being the real conclusion of the first season [20] [31]. So, here are some questions I asked myself before the official premiere. Will it be more centred on the female characters sometimes for some more balance? Will anything from the non-canon Sinstagram stories be adapted with notable differences for old time’s sake [125] [126]? [47]

I may have been cyberbullied through a fake motivational video and such back in March and I am gutted that there has been some legal trouble with the bonus chapter of the Season One finale [1] [2] [35] [94] [95], but I am more than thrilled to review the premiere of Helluva Boss – Season Two [25] [46] [56]. For my sins, I am about to pay a price that is not misleading, unlike a certain offer at Taco Bandito in Stardom: Hollywood [18] [114] [115]. I guess I deserve to be this happy after trying to hypnotise myself into not falling for non-fungible tokens [111]. Jokes aside, I wish Vivienne Medrano and her crew the best when it comes to benefiting their mental well-being [26] [118]. [56]

Guess who is still my favourite character? Stolas, my owl daddy [127] [128]! But before he was a daddy, he was a sweet little boy [46] [56]. I was totally cuted out at the sight of Stolas when he was an owlet in the first teaser on Twitter. His excitement over celebrating his eleventh birthday and eventually learning a new responsibility in the episode is utterly adorable! Despite the owlet’s peppiness, I swore that my heart cracked after seeing him bawl over already being in an engagement at such a young age and then being unable to forget about it during his time at the circus. How he knows was laminitis is and how he expresses his bookworm knowledge could be part of a theory that he is on the autism spectrum, even though that has been used as an insult one time, much to my dismay [117]. How apologetic he can be is a sign that he is ultimately not a run-of-the-mill spoiled brat, despite having a wealthy parent. Perhaps in the next episode or two, we may learn how Stolas first met Asmodeus, the antagonist of “Ozzie’s” [22] [54], along with his relationship with another new character who will be described later on.

Little Stolas is so precious! Happy birthday, sweet little prince [46]! [56]

The flashback of Stolas’ childhood introduces his father, Paimon [23] [32] [46] [56]. As a king of the Ars Goetia, Paimon also has the supernatural ability to shapeshift into a demonic form. His parenting is rather…chaotic neutral to say the least. Despite how soft-spoken he can be and the way he shows him his destiny enlightens him, he only sent his son to the circus to get his mind off an already arranged marriage, regardless of his discomfort. Why did he slap his son at the back of his head for apparently greeting Blitzo for the first time wrongly?! Well, at least he loosely of cared about how lonely he was, but that still is not an excuse for ordering a servant to “buy” a friend. Please do not get me started with his snooty disregard for poorer folks. How he contacts another new character through what looks like a magic mirror reminds me of the magic mirror in Beauty And The Beast [6]. I wanted to witness Stolas’ mother being the softer parent to greatly reduce the possible generalisation of pubescent female avian demons being either wrathful or angsty, but I guess we will have to wait and see if Stolas actually had a mother at some point in the next episode or two [46] [56]. 

Paimon’s mentioning of having many other sons has sparked my curiosity [46]. As for the butler, he does not have much character aside from being a butler. Nevertheless, it was pretty cute how he was gelling the top of the owlet’s head. [56]

As for you, Little Stolas, don’t cry, darling! Mama Vivzie has a future boyfriend for you [46] [54]! [56]

It turns out that Blitzo has known Stolas ever since he was a child [46] [56]. Little Blitzo is rather rebellious and confident, bringing out some Bart Simpson vibes as he meets Stolas and encourages him to play along with his pretending to be part of a league of pirates [98]. He may have been good friends with Fizzarolli, as hinted in the ending of “Ozzie’s” [54], but there was some huge favouritism from the audience during their performance, which could have led to a falling out later in life [46] [53] [56]. But still, they're still played together as kids outside of showbiz. Little Fizz’s disapproval of the “gore” included during the playtime just shows how sweet and innocent he was back then, despite the slight direct threat. But still, whatever will cause their friendship to end later in life could lead to Blitzo eventually losing his passion for performance at a circus [53]. I am sure that his mother was with his twin sister at some point during the events of the flashback [125] [126]. With an additional reflection of Adult Blitzo’s old job as a clown at Loo Loo Land [53], now we know why he dropped the “O” in his name about twenty-five years later [46] [56].

Little Blitzo was still cunning and confident, despite his struggles with popularity and his relationship with Cash Buckzo [46]. Reflecting on his dream of running his own circus and being a boss, many of us had childhood dream and an idea of what we would like to be when we grew up, right? [56]

As for Little Fizzarolli, he was adorable and arguably more successful at some classic clown tricks [46] [56]. His popularity must have inspired his robotic counterpart two decades later [53]. I had a feeling that the child versions of Blitzo and Fizzarolli were voiced by some young relatives of Medrano as their dialogue reminds me of the Lucas the Spider series on Cartoontio [40]. On second thought, the young voice actors must just be child actors at the humble beginnings of their careers. [56]

Lastly, we finally get to see the official debut of Blitzo’s father whose name is “Cash Buckzo” [25] [46] [50]. Even though the pilot is partially non-canon [55], something could be linked to him eventually becoming unsupportive of his son’s passions in showbiz [127] [128]. I sense some Cooper clan vibes of his plan to steal treasures from the Goetia palace with the help of his son [97], but I honestly sense no Robin Hood-styled virtue during the progress as there is still no physical appearance of anyone they know in need [46] [56]. Moreover, how he would allow Blitzo to be “bought” for financial gain from a wealthy family sure is a step too far away from morality. He sure came across as manipulative and controlling and to be honest, I would not be surprised if he and his wife would eventually get divorced at some point before Blitzo would attend college. And seriously?! “Buying” a child imp for five bucks and a condom?! Both Stolas and Blitzo have problematic fathers who would even dare spew profanity to their faces. Is it any wonder why their parentings are different in the pilot and the first season [55]? As previously stated, I am up for finding out what their mothers were like back then.

I would not be surprised if this fella was associated with a business in the Green Ring at some point [53]. [56]

Twenty-five years later, Blitzo is seen peering through a window at the Goetia mansion, notably for Stolas and his grimoire [46] [56]. During a party for not divorced couples, he gets caught by two guards for trying to sneak into his room. For those who have watched any episodes of the first season, it would be somewhat believed that Stolas is a little disappointed in Blitzo for sneaking into the party and will not hesitate to calmly confront him. But as someone who reviewed the majority of the first season [125] [126] [127] [128], I was expecting him to relish in joy within a reunion…along with something much more than that [46] [56]. I suppose the theory of Blitzo being part incubus will not be debunked anytime soon. The moment he slyly spreads a certain prince’s legs further apart as shown in the final teaser for the episode is exactly like one of the drafts in the trailer [34] [51] [125] [126] [127] [128]. Adult Blitzo is just as repulsive and self-centred as he has always been, especially when silencing the “O” in his name to forget about his past [46] [56], but will he soon learn anything from the disastrous first date in “Ozzie’s” in the next episode of the second season or two [54]?

I shall still refer to Adult Blitzo as Deadpool’s brother from another mother for the striking similarities they have [10] [46] [62] [125] [126]. [56]

I say. The moment Stolas and Blitzo were first intimate with one another is one of the most hilariously erotic scenes I have seen in cartoon history [46] [56]. First, it starts with Stolas having his neck bitten, causing him to bellow in pleasure. I tittered at the visual innuendo when Blitzo was bouncing against the aroused prince’s buttocks and a very familiar gag [55]. I was pointing at the screen and urging Blitzo to not leave Stolas tied to the bed and blindfolded with his grimoire [46] [56], despite knowing that he has only been in his affair for its power since the beginning [55]. Overall, the pacing of their first fling is engaging with some juicy build-up, including some rather frantic clumsiness from Blitzo’s eyes on the prize, especially for all the Stoliz lovers out there [46] [56]. I am grateful for the sweet scent of consistency and mostly honoured continuity [25] [53]. My dear hazbeans, we finally get to see the beginning of a sinful canon same-sex relationship! Establishing LGBTQ+ characters in entertainment is NOT shoehorned propaganda as it encourages tolerance towards same-sex affection in real life [15]. For the love of Satan! Even in Hell, do NOT ban gay marriage! Ban arranged child marriage instead! 

Behold! Much better erotica than Fifty Shades of Grey [36]! That big spicy sausage was worth it, eh Sto? But I know he is still more than a plaything to you, even if the two of you are dressed as vampires [9]. I guess those who complained about a same-sex couple being present in Lightyear did not want either half of the tuna fish sandwich [15]. Can I get a “HELL YEAH!!!” in honour of LGBTQ+ representation, fighting homophobia and rooting for equality [15] [127] [128] [129] [130]? [56]

If only Stolas and Stella would have tried to become pilots to sort their marriage out as adults, even though they are avian demons [99]. Moreover, I have refrained from being like Grundgetta from the ‘80s era of Sesame Street this whole time when it comes to which avian deserves more happiness…until I watched the premise of the second season [46] [56] [63]. Later during the events after “Ozzie’s”, we see him waking up after passing out from drunkenness and then taking some antidepressants, which is rather shocking to me as they are red flags regarding his mental health and he is, as previously mentioned, my favourite Helluva Boss character. Oh, how I deeply appreciated the late birthday wish from the amazing owl daddy after seeing The Book Of Mormon with my boyfriend in London, along with how gentlemanly he was to be in a livestream after Easter [8] [81]. Moreover, I really want the thirty-sixth ruler of the Ars Goetia to be happy and adorably carefree eventually due to his wholesome side and the fact that he has been in either a one-sided or completely unloving relationship [53] [54] [56]. On a lighter note, his lack of remorse for cheating on Stella can sum up my departure from a toxic fandom.

The feeling is mutual, my owl daddy. [56]

I wanted to be non-biased against Stella when it came to further exploration for the sake of understanding and respecting different opinions from fellow hazbeans [127] [128], but…knowing that she had even been verbally unloving to her husband before his affair was committed is cast iron. She even openly shames his sexual abilities to the other avians who were previously seen in the pilot. The moment when Stolas has finally had enough and tells Stella that he wants her out of his life is exactly how I feel about being on the autism spectrum nowadays, especially on social media and how I felt in the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom during my departure from it in mid-2015 [11] [71] [72] [74] [76] [117]. How she mentions the honour of the Goetia family shows that she must only care about her royal image [46] [56]. So far, how Paimon wanted his son to marry her is beyond me and how Stolas wants his daughter to have a normal life compared to his youth is unmistakable and worth rooting for [12] [53]. Nonetheless, I suppose there could be a softer side of Stella in another childhood flashback or some mother and daughter time with Octavia [53] [54]. But at the moment, I see Stella’s attitude towards Stolas as a metaphor, especially before the affair for some of society’s prejudice against autism and autistic people [11] [117]. 

Now here is a callback to the pilot, in spite of Stella’s updated design for the series [55]. Just change her tints of pink to light shades of blue and you get Twitter [117]. So much for how I saw her anger in “Loo Loo Land” as a metaphor for my anger [107] [108]. But I digress. Surely, there can be some way to somewhat redeem her character for the sake of it being written a bit better to an extent later in the second season. [56]

The fact that Stolas has never viciously insulted or physically harmed her back, yet finally stands up to her after a lonesome ballad is another big step in likeability and character progression [53]. But still, it is a little puzzling that a dialogical error made him apparently have an excellent memory, but hardly remember Blitzo’s name during a reunion [25]. [56]

It turns out that the new avian character hinted in the trailer and revealed in full colour on Twitter is Andrealphus, a marquis and the sixty-fifth spirit of the Ars Goetia [19] [45]. He is Stolas’ brother-in-law, meaning that he is Stella’s brother and Octavia’s uncle [46] [56]. How he is associated with ice reminds me of Elsa from Frozen and Saranoia’s ice witch form from the episode of Yin Yang Yo titled “Scarf It Up” [37] [67]. The shape of his head and figure reminds me of Pearl from Steven Universe [80]. Apart from that, his overall design is gorgeous [19] [45]! But of course, what is more important than how a character looks is how they are portrayed. Although he is meant to be a “sh**ty” brother-in-law [82], I kind of want him to be an anti-villain, meaning that he may also be sassy and irritating to his sister, but he would not blame her for being cheated on by Stolas and even show some compassion to her if she even sheds tears because of it. Nonetheless, I would have thought that would have been fair for not only Stella but the hazbeans who have been sympathising with her after the release of “Loo Loo Land”…if it was not for her behaviour in “The Circus” [46] [53] [56] [107] [108].

I would not be surprised if Andrealphus taught his niece outstanding maths skills [64]. Since he has only been revealed and mentioned so far, what will his extended personality be [82]? Who will he be shipped like A.T. Andrei Thomas’ couples with [92] [93]? [19]

I knew the animation and audio would once again be top-notch with impressive movements and expressiveness of the characters [46] [56]. Examples of stunningly hellish details include the riches being discovered and taken by Little Stolas and Little Blitzo in the palace with what sounds like a childlike remix of the soundtrack for the imps on duty in “Loo Loo Land” playing in the background [53], along with the tints of red and black behind the tree where they further develop a friendship [46] [56]. The lighting effects are exceptional with spotlights on the two young performers and the characters’ eyes glowing. Sparkles appear in the night sky of the Pride Ring during the musical number. The advanced animation makes the intimacy and clumsiness fast-paced during the scene of Adult Stolas being seduced by Adult Blitzo whose “O” became silent, enlightening the erotica. Lastly, the Spindlehorse logo has been enriched with some majestic trotting. I just wonder if the next episode or two can feature any of the specific limited-edition merchandise that featured characters in different attire, spooky forms, art styles and colour palettes [48] [49] [50] [58] [59] [61]. I may not be fond of being a creepypasta writer anymore [44] [83], but I am still up for a little spook, even if it is masterfully animated [46] [56]. 

More examples of backgrounds that are gorgeously detailed include the hallway with portraits of Stolas as an egg, a newborn baby and a toddler [46] [56]. There are also some amazing effects in this episode, such as a monochrome aura surrounding the grimoire as Paimon hands it to his son during his childhood and the green-screen effect of his cape for dates during his adulthood that debuted in “Ozzie’s” [54]. There are so many visual enlightenments to point out, I tell you! [56]

Aside from more eye candy for artists, including the notable glow up of Stolas and Stella’s bedroom [55] [56], Lisa Cooper is still not giving up on her goal in the Pride Ring after the premiere of the second season of Helluva Boss [109] [110] [124]. If some doctors were to die, would Dr. Red end up in the Pride Ring while Dr. Orange gets hired in the Wrath Ring and Dr. Purple is granted access to the Envy Ring [103] [104] [105] [125] [126]? Dr. Green might as well work in the Greed Ring under supervision of a hellborn and Dr. Blue could be in the Lust Ring with another hellborn’s guidance [102] [106] [125] [126]. [56]

What can I say about the musical number of the Season Two premiere [46] [56]? Adult Stolas pulled a Brentalfloss on us as he croons out his sorrow in a new ballad that was hinted on Twitter [7] [33]. What makes this ballad so emotionally intense is how he is slowly believing that his affair was just a tool with no sincere affection for him involved [24], especially after Blitzo states that he feels like all there is in the relationship is sex towards the ending of “Ozzie’s” [54]. Despite that, I knew he would want something more than just sex. As for the prince’s new song, it is the moment I was looking forward to the most as the songs are the most notable aspect of the show’s memorability besides the mesmerisingly advanced animation and raunchiness [24] [46] [56]. Bryce Pinkham always does a great job at portraying my owl daddy, especially during a musical number due to his talent in singing. I absolutely adore Stolas’ vocals in “Stolas Sings” as they were like a fallen angel grieving in the depths of Hell. What could be next? Rapping in Heaven [42]? I shall look forward to hearing the other fourteen songs in the second season, including possibly a K-Pop-themed number [5].

My owl daddy could use a reprise of “You Will Be Okay” [53] [107] [108]. [56]

I am enlightened that the second season has begun with the official establishment of beloved characters’ origins, along with a potential teaser of what we thought would be the real finale of the first season [46] [56]. The fires in the Vivziepop circles of Hell are still roaring, even after the Summer 2022 merchandise sales [47]. After marking the tenth anniversary of Jane the Killer’s debut with her creator, I just wonder if any of the other test subjects for the powerful formula known as “Liquid Hate” have ended up residing in the Pride Ring [86]. They could meet and befriend Lisa Cooper who can tell them all about Jane since she is a version of Not Really Lisa, my own creepypasta character who is nine or ten years older with notable differences [109] [110] [112] [124]. I also wonder if the other eight lives of Puss In Boots have ended up being the pets of various sinners in the Pride Ring [96]. Did I take a fairly villainous character’s suicidality a bit too seriously whilst watching the fourth episode of the first episode [52]? Aside from that, I do not doubt that the three banished cherubs can be redeeming guests at Hazbin Hotel [39]. 

Although I hope any old creepypasta followers of mine enjoy celebrating the tenth anniversary of Sonic.exe [38], I can still imagine Stolas glaring at the demonic version of Sonic with black and red eyes and saying, “Bloody hell! It’s no wonder she stopped being a fan of you!’ [70] [76]. But still, if you still love Sonic.exe in 2022 [65] [68] [116], that is absolutely okay. The same goes for those who prefer my old creepypastas to my novellas since people have the right to their own opinions [116]. [56]

As for my current obsession with Helluva Boss, I would not mind being damned to the VivziePop circles of Hell after I die. Again, what if I suddenly convert to the wrong religion and denomination [41] [43]? It is no wonder I am an agnostic. I can grateful that a few issues earlier this year have ultimately not tainted my love for the show [27] [35] [117]. As for Hazbin Hotel, I am glad the enigmatic Mr. Exit can loathe it while I can love it [39]. [56]

As much as I do not regret leaving the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom seven deadly years ago [76], despite how I enjoyed watching Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with my boyfriend at the cinema back in April [77], I do not regret sinning for the premiere of the second season of Helluva Boss at the end of July [46] [56]. What could be next? Another festival in association with an upside-down crucifix and the antichrist [3]? If you want to stick to something wholesome like Hello Kitty’s collaboration with Pusheen the Cat, that is no problem at all [88] [89]. Besides, some of us may crave another taste of the VivziePop version of Heaven [52], but shall we keep punishing the toxic side of a fandom by shipping the least popular ship that is ultimately harmless [129] [130]? While us hazbeans wait for more of the second season, our Poké players will wait for their ninth journey in either scarlet or violet after starting with either an adorable green kitty, a beetroot t-rex or a chibi Donald Duck [87]. Some of my fellow hazbeans might as well brace themselves for Striker meeting Gora Killiams beyond the Wrath Ring soon [75]. Stay sinful, royal owls and fiendish imps!

Like how Prince partied like it was 1999 [73], we can all party like it is 2022. I may have quit YouTube a while ago [121], but I have not given up on being a hazbean [46]. Again, if I end up in Hell, I will not rot as I will be guarded by Stolas and have a non-alcoholic drink at a bar [14] [81] [82]. You must not be surprised that I made a deal with Lucifer, even though he must be disapproved of me wearing socks with sandals [28] [91]. Lastly, Asmodeus from the Lust ring may at least be gentlemanly to me [90]. I am still grateful for the compassion I have received in the living world [74]. [56]

Will the rest of the second season of Helluva Boss be as sensual as Deadpool announcing the release of his first box-office hit on Ladies’ Day in Japan back in 2016 [62]? I am also up for more adult cartoons that handle sexual and other mature topics in more realistic, delicate and potentially educational ways [69]. As previously stated, 2022 so far is quite the year of second seasons. And yes, it is also the year of Tweety from the Looney Tunes franchise [100]. [56]
