Do You Want To Watch Once Upon A Snowman?

Do you watch to watch more Frozen? Well, ever since after the outstanding acclaim of Frozen back in late 2013 [9], Disney and our Frozen fanatics let its legacy franchise rage on with some expansions [11] [17], including Frozen Fever, an animated short about the celebration of Princess Anna's birthday that was released in theatres with the enchanting live-action remake of Cinderella back in early 2015 [5] [10]. Since I can strongly relate to the ice queen Elsa and see her ice powers as a metaphor for my autism [3], Frozen II was my most highly anticipated film of 2019 [36] [37] [40] [41]. Throughout 2020, the world of Frozen was expanded with several shorts starring a certain snowman who likes warm hugs and a virtual-reality short titled “Myth: A Frozen Tale” [29] [32] [38] [39]. I cannot help but let the title of yet another regular animated short that is yet to stream on Disney+ remind me of Once Upon A Deadpool because it is simply “Once Upon A Snowman” [1] [2] [6]. Aside from that, I am more than delighted that we will get to see more of the innocent and happy-go-lucky snowman in 2020 because I simply cannot stand the negative impacts this year has brought on many of us anymore [8] [21].

Behold! Another Frozen short! Only four more days left until we get to see it on Disney+. [6]

It is confirmed that the short film will take place after Elsa flees Arendelle when her ice powers have been discovered by the public and before Olaf meets Anna, Kristoff and Sven [6]. This is an interesting concept as it is an opportunity to explain how the loveable snowman came to life and what he was up to after he was spawned from Elsa’s wintery magic [33]. A midquel can be a great opportunity to establish some expanded character development. After all, Disney midquels have been done before back in the 2000s [20] [26], including Tarzan II and Bambi II [24] [25]. Heck, speaking of midquels, I would love to encounter a new Tomb Raider trilogy that could take place after the Survivor timeline and lead to signs of another trilogy being exactly like the classic timeline sort of as if it was a midquel to a film [28]. As for Once Upon A Snowman, we Frozen fanatics shall root for Olaf on his quest to find his name during the events of the first Frozen film. It would be worth it after listening to a heart-warming song about reminding someone that you are still with them emotionally a few months ago [31].

I think Olaf needs some lessons from Ly the Fairy from Rayman 2: The Great Escape if he ever wants to learn how to juggle [18]. [6] [33]

ANNA used DOOR! It’s super effective [13]! [6] [33]

In order for a short midquel to be convincing to fans of the first film, its plot ought to be consistent and quite fascinating. It is quite unusual to see Olaf have a sausage for a nose, but it is a sign of some interesting development within his origin [6] [33]. We also see him experimenting with an Arendelle flag, a paddle ball and a comb at Oaken’s trading post, quite similar to how he swapped his carrot nose for a candy cane in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure [17]. Aside from his comedic remark about not being able to juggle after realising that he is alive, we also see an example of how somewhat courageous he can be as he is seen sliding through snow and ice whilst fleeing from a pack of wolves. Seemingly, the premise of the shortly forthcoming short film that takes place before Anna reunites with Elsa is sure to provide a delightful portrayal of Olaf’s origin as he appears to still consist of the same cuteness, cheerfulness and wittiness as the utterly adorable and interestingly developed interpretation of Sam-I-Am from the animated series on Netflix based on Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss [14] [15] [34] [35].

It’s-a-him! Olaf [16]! [6] [33]

As well as a chase scene that could provide some tension within the climax of the short midquel, its pace through the realistic wintery location is part of a highly convincing way of portraying it. The way Olaf’s body often falls apart and how he tries to literally pull himself together makes the chase scene a little more comedic. [6] [33]

Let us look into the visuals once again. Aside from the recycled moment of Elsa taking off her cape and letting it blow away in the breeze [9], the wintery setting is rather dimmed as it is indeed set during the night she ran away from her kingdom [6] [33]. The interior of Wandering Gaken’s Trading Post is detailed with fine wooden textures and a variety of items, including fruit in a fruit bowl, red roses in a vase and Anna’s coronation dress from the first Frozen film [9]. The animation is once again outstandingly done. The particles of the snow and water during the chase scene are highly realistic, thus showing how advanced the 3D animation within certain Disney movies like Tangled can be [23] [24]. Olaf’s lively movements enhance his adorableness, whether he has a nose or not. The fluid running of the wolves during the chase scene and how their eyes glow a tint of orange during the darkness before it make them rather intimidating as antagonists of the short. Since the formula of providing incredible animation has been repeated for the forthcoming short [9] [10] [11] [17], it would definitely be considered to be part of the Frozen franchise hopefully with an engaging plot.

The animation even nails Olaf’s reflection in a mirror in the highly detailed trading post. [6] [33]

We suppose
That with a fresh sausage for a nose,
He'll go along with how the midquel goes
In winter [7]! [6] [33]

Perhaps after the release of Olaf’s origin this October [6] [33], he ought to finally know a Samantha in Frozen 3 [11]. Could this Samantha he gets to know be a love interest for Elsa [12]? I still believe that there could be live-action remakes of Disney sequels in the future when Disney starts to somewhat run out of ideas [40] [41], possibly when I am in my thirties or forties. Nonetheless, I would be delighted to see an animated sequel to The Princess and the Frog that mostly stars the loveable Lottie [27], but does not repeat the same mistakes that Cars 2 made when it came to writing [3] [19]. As for the Frozen franchise from 2013 to the present, I would love to see another short midquel that could go into further depth of Elsa in her icy palace of isolation right after she built it [9]. This Friday, our fellow Frozen fanatics shall look forward to another adventure with Olaf after several delightful moments of him that were uploaded onto YouTube during the lockdowns we had to succumb to for protection during the coronavirus pandemic as coping mechanisms [6] [29] [33]. Despite his fondness of being in the summer [7], the cold never bothered him anyway.

Lastly, I wonder if there will be a new musical number either based on Olaf’s struggle with not knowing who he is or his desire to be in a summery climate. I have teared up a little after listening to “I Am With You” [31], so I am partly expecting a new song in Once Upon A Snowman. [6] [33]

Animaniacs In 2020 - Still Zany To The Max?

As someone who remembers helping a certain motley crew complete various tasks behind the fourth wall in an action-puzzle game for the Nintendo DS [3] [23], I am more than delighted to hear about them being welcomed back in a reboot of the outstanding and timeless cartoon that aired from 1993 to 1998 they gained their popularity from [1] [2] [34]. Not too long ago, we encountered a sneak peek of certain voice actors and a certain voice actress reprising their roles, along with an eye-catching recreation of the first moment from the opening theme of the original show [22] [39]. This has led to even more high hopes for the forthcoming reboot [2]. I also remember fondly watching the original series on Boomerang when I was a child in the 2000s, which would explain why I am one of those admirers of ‘90s animation who hopes for the reboot to excel compared to…well…other reboots that were…disappointing [33] [37]. Luckily, we can still hope for more and even better reimaginings of cartoons from our childhoods after the reboot of DuckTales received critical acclaim back in 2017 [32]. Moreover, another blast from the past awaits us cartoon lovers this November [21] [35], so get your slapstick and other cartoon gags ready!

Reboot of Animaniacs
It looks like a classic’s back
Sure 2020 really sucked,
But talent’s lightning has been struck
New Animaniacs [39]! [22]

The art style and animation are brilliantly done in the preview of the forthcoming reboot [21] [35]. Surely the faces and feet of the Warners are now a tint of a cream colour, but their movements are lively. The facial features of the human characters who are parodied from Jurassic Park, partially except for the spoof of Steven Spielberg himself seem slightly exaggerated to make them look more cartoony, especially the noses. The way they are animated is exceptionally done as well with priceless expressions to enhance the humour to a degree. I really how the background is done as it consists of an easing palette and a fair amount of detail with a cartoony vibe. A prime example of the quality would be when the three Warners prance across the grass under the mesmerising rays of yellow sunlight while crooning wittily just before a good example of shading appears. I am fine with a reboot of a cartoon consisting of slightly different animation and character designs, as long as they are exceptionally done, especially if they are not far too drastic. More importantly, a reboot or reimagining should also consist of writing that will not negatively affect the likeability of recognisable characters [18] [27] [31] [37].

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! [21] [35]

I just love how the animated spoofs of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant analyse the new appearances of the Warners too. Definitely not another re-run indeed. [21] [35]

Apart from how the preview of the reboot faithfully provides an example of the Warners’ zaniness [21], I adore how it is accurately parodying the scene in Jurassic Park where the protagonists are bewildered at the sight of dinosaurs [21] [25] [27]. Firstly, it would be expected that the parodied characters would encounter a dinosaur due to the appearance of a shade that resembles one, but instead, the shadow splits into the shadows of the Warner brothers...and the Warner sister. Is that the beautiful sound of the fourth wall breaking I hear? Why yes! The man dressed in a green suit with a fedora sums up Hulu’s new goal outstandingly as he is also wearing a badge with the company’s logo on it. I can say that the witnesses have summed up our reactions to the forthcoming return of Animaniacs perfectly, though I would not be too amazed about the Pinky and the Brain return if I was one of them. You know, because they were known to try to take over the world back in the ‘90s [5] [10]. Don’t you just love a parody of an iconic movie scene that wrecks the fourth wall quite like how Deadpool and the main characters of Chowder would [15] [16] [36]?

The parody of a specific scene from Jurassic Park is an outstanding metaphor for how happy we are to see the Animaniacs returning, as well as a real treat for ‘90s nostalgia lovers [25]. Even the tones of the music and dialogue from Ellie and Alan are top notch when it came to heavily spoofing an iconic scene from Jurassic Park [27]! [21] [35]

Gotta the Warners’ original designs on an animation cel as an easter egg [21] [35]

What else is there it expect from the reboot besides a sneak peek and a promising teaser? I will look forward to how the Warners’ individualities will be portrayed in more episodes, along with what schemes Pinky and the Brain will be up to for world domination. Too bad Minerva Mink will not be in the reboot because of how controversial she was to some viewers in the original show [4] [7], even though Lola Bunny had a certain similar trait to her in Space Jam [30]. Additionally, it is rumoured that the two seasons of the reboot will not feature:

  •   Slappy Squirrel [2]
  •   Skippy Squirrel, Slappy’s nephew [2]
  •   Rita and Runt [2]
  •   Hello Nurse [2]
  •   Buttons and Mindy [2]

The Goodfeathers may be only cameos in one episode or two with some dialogue from Squit [2]. Despite that, I hope there can be a sudden third season if the first two seasons become successful that will consist of the grand return of those characters, especially the sassy Slappy, the talented Rita and the adorable Mindy [7] [9] [13] [28]. They can perhaps with some minor alternations for modern-day appeal, especially the seductive Minerva whose sexiness might need to be toned down for young audiences in the rest of the 2020s [4] [7].

It may not be pretty being toned down for today’s youth for this furry fatale [7], but we will see if the reboot of Animaniacs will be successful enough for any motivation to bring back more characters in two more seasons. Perhaps some female critters crushing on her in any additional seasons after the success of the first two can teach 2020s kids that being gay, lesbian or bisexual is okay, which is what I would like to happen since I am a strong supporter of gay rights. [4]
Surely two more seasons of the forthcoming reboot can bring back Slappy Squirrel as bringing back her sassiness and mentioning of her younger days can make some of her moments in additional seasons quite reliable to parents and 2000s kids like me at some point after the success of the first two seasons [9]. [7]

During a time of plenty of toy reviewers, writers and young children today digging the pixelated celebrity lifestyle of Pixel Stars [19] [20] [41], I am highly impressed with the overall outcomes of the teaser [21] [35]. It seems like that the upcoming reboot of Animaniacs will be much more critically acclaimed than Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain was in the late ‘90s and so on [6] [26] [29], even though that spin-off could be considered non-canon [12]. It is quite a bummer that several other loveable characters will not be appearing in the first and second seasons [2], but there can be hopes of them returning in a sudden third season or possibly a fourth one. Perhaps if there is a revival or reboot of Dexter’s Laboratory that could do better than its third and fourth seasons by the time a third season of the Animaniacs reboot airs [27], the Warners can be invited over to a gathering hosted by Dee Dee on a Friday for the second time [11]. After turning the Wheel Of Morality and reading the lesson I should learn [24], I have learned that I should maintain some form of proactivity, no matter how heartbreakingly difficult the present has been [14] [17]. One time, Randy Beaman learned the same lesson [38]. Okay, bye.

Okay, readers! I love you all! Bye bye [28]! [2]

More Sweet Moments Of Hello Kitty Fun

Hola and olá, fellow kitties! I may be sick to the back teeth of the negativity caused by certain impacts that occurred in 2020 [52], but I vow to never get tired of writing, along with loveable cartoon characters like Hello Kitty. Besides, plenty of simmers are caring for an unexpected crossover with the Care Bears in the latest update of The Sims FreePlay [6] [7] [8] [9]. Since July 2020, I have been completely cuted out by the innocent of Sweet Moments With Hello Kitty from the giggling of the white-furred starlet to the cheerful theme tune that plays in the title sequence and credits of each episode. As the series progressed weekly, I have discovered the truth about how it was firstly established [24] [27] [29], along with a second season that might not have been noticed by many English-speaking viewers [17] [18] [19] [23] [25] [28]. While some bronies and pegasisters are admiring the beauty of various items from a haul in association with an online-interpretation of UK Ponycon on Discord and the convention’s adorable mascot Britannia [40] [53] [54] [55], I will proceed to analyse even more of Kitty White’s fun and sweet moments with hopes for even more of them with her outside of the animated web series and so on in 2021.

Sweet Moments With Hello Kitty is delightfully faithful to the fashionable feline’s sweet nature [56] [57] [58] [59], even though some fellow kitties may still prefer the animation and premises of the videos on Sanrio’s Japanese YouTube channel [20] [21]. [13]
Even though I called Sweet Moments With Hello Kitty “The Cutest Cartoon Of 2020”, the series firstly uploaded in the three official Latin-American Hello Kitty YouTube channels back in late 2019 as “Hello Kitty Fun” [24] [27] [29]. This is quite similar to how the four episodes of Angelica and Susie’s Pre-School Daze firstly aired in the United Kingdom in 2005 before it aired in the United States in 2008 [46] [47]. Since the series was firstly for Latin-American fellow kitties and there is no spoken dialogue from the white bobtailed feline [16] [22] [26], I can still enjoy watching any episode on any of the official Hello Kitty channels without having to fully understand Mexican Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese [1] [36], despite already knowing how to speak several Spanish words and phrases. After realising the actuality of how the series was firstly established, I suppose I can still call it “The Cutest Cartoon Of 2020” for English-speaking fellow Kitties who have witnessed the sweet moments on the Hello Kitty And Friends channel, quite like how I would call Kitten Catfe “The Cutest Collectable Toy Of 2020” [32] [33]. Besides, why not briefly combine the two exclusively regional titles and call the series “Fun Hello Kitty Moments”?

It turns out that the series was originally called “Hello Kitty Fun” and was uploaded online mainly for Latin-American viewers at first [24] [29]. [27]
I suppose some Brazilian and Mexican fellow kitties can refer to Hello Kitty as “Hola Gatita” and “Olá Gatinha”. [29]
In September 2020, another set of episodes were established in a more episodic format on the Latin-American Hello Kitty channels [17] [18] [19] [23] [25] [28], seemingly as a second season since a compilation of the other episodes were put together as a “complete first season” on each one of them [16] [22] [26]. The only difference that the second season provides and the first season lacks is that the premise of the new set of episodes that links them chronologically is Kitty going on a road trip in a van as proven at the beginning of each one that resembles a map [17] [18] [19] [23] [25] [28], which makes me believe that it was established to somehow give the second season a fresh new direction. Theoretically, the premise of “Adventure Awaits” could be viewed as a chronological prequel to the road trip-themed episodes as it features Kitty packing her suitcase and then bringing a smaller one with her [11]. Furthermore, I have a theory that the road trip episodes will be uploaded on Hello Kitty and Friends channel as a second season for fellow kitties whose first language is English at some point next year, which I hope will come true in a hopefully much safer time.

A new “road trip” season is more chronological than the previous season of Hello Kitty Fun [16] [22] [26]. [18]
I suppose “Adventure Awaits” was a potential teaser for the road trip season on the Latin-American Hello Kitty channels. [11]
Let us look into the aspects of the writing put into the first season of series once again. As lucky as she is to not be crying over spilt milk, the idea of juggling apples to successfully reach some bottles from the high shelves in “Milky Situations” was indeed clever and creative as a sign of her adorable independence [12]. Other forms of creativity include how she wrote her initials with the substance of one of the sweets in a giant cookie in another episode [24]. I like how she uses her imagination to further enhance her confidence in riding her tricycle in “Ride into Greatness” [13]. As well as creativity, there is a pinch of realism in “There’s Always Tomorrow” [14]. Throughout that episode, Kitty has to deal with a small variety of distractions from her studying but then falls asleep as a sign of giving in during her bedtime, which is what many fellow kitties may have faced at some point in our lives. The amounts of creative and fairly realistic elements in the writing provide a balance of imaginative thinking and the aspects of a run-of-the-mill life for the child-friendly tone of the series.

The exclamation mark next to Kitty’s head says it all in one moment of “There’s Always Tomorrow”. [14]
Some moments are quite unexpected and quite tense in the first season of series, such as Kitty’s walk through sweet treats turning out to be a dream and how she accidentally loses her teddy bear in the depths of the snow [24] [27]. It was a little odd to see the gleeful gijinka suddenly remove regular candles after placing them on each cake in another episode, but I adore how she decides to place a heart-shaped one on the birthday cake as it is yet another ironic moment and an example of her delightful way of thinking [29]. How she was distracted from sunbathing by a gust of wind that blew her rubber ring in the sixth episode of the second season is another example of casual tension in a weather-related situation, which is later solved with various items tied to a beach umbrella [19]. I can honestly relate to how the weather kept changing and motivating Kitty into constantly changing her outfit in the fifth episode [25]. Some simplistic and legitimate plots for a family-friendly web series ought to provide moments of mild tension and irony to make them more engaging, which is what the web series has accomplished throughout various calming musical jingles.

Oi, you naughty wind! Leave Hello Kitty’s things alone! [19]

Mild moments of conflict being solved quite surprisingly not only makes them sweet, but watchable. [27]
What else does the second season have to offer besides being more chronological and theoretically shorter with fewer episodes? Well, to suit certain modern-day standards for today’s youth, Kitty owns a smartphone [17] [23]. She can be seen in photographs on an app that resembles Instagram on her phone at the end of each episode within the new season [17] [18] [19] [23] [25] [28]. Speaking of photographs, I can strongly relate to the struggles of trying to make the “best” selfie demonstrated by Kitty in the fourth episode [17]. I am pretty sure that my boyfriend can relate to the struggles with a very “co-operative” sat nav she faces in the second episode [23]. Despite how I think the usage of a smartphone would work better for a character who was firstly established in the 2010s since Kitty was firstly introduced in the mid-1970s [57] [58] [59] [60], the idea of a nostalgic character getting used to today’s technology is ultimately harmless. Besides, at least there is no parody of TikTok seen on Kitty’s phone as she is far too sweet and kind to fall into the depravity within the corrupt side of the TikTok community that would make Candace from Phineas and Ferb sing angrily about it [5] [31].

Who needs a sat nav when you can just read a map on a folded sheet of paper? You know, the traditional way? [23]

At least Kitty is not as attached to a smartphone at times as Loona from Helluva Boss [34] [35]. [23]
What is more important than a nostalgic character occasionally using modern technology for today’s youth is the overall portrayal within decent writing. Previously, we have seen her show an act of kindness by doing whatever she could to help her pet fishy go to sleep in “Sweet Dreams” [59] [60]. In some other episodes, Kitty has shown herself to be an independent problem solver. An example of this in the second season would be at least trying to set up her tent all by herself and eventually succeeding after some failed attempts [28]. A balance of compassion and independence within her portrayal can set up a fairly good example for very young girls today, encouraging them to solve small problems mindfully. So much better than what the main characters of Teen Titans GO would encourage [56], right? Despite the usage of emotional hearts reducing realism in an overly sweet way [57] [58], I still find Kitty White’s portrayal heart-warming and quite relatable at times. I would love her twin sister Mimmy to have a similar portrayal in possibly a third season of Hello Kitty Fun [48], even though the announcement trailer for her own Japanese YouTube channel was a joke for April Fool’s Day [21].

Kitty White is as cute as Serena from Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City and she is completely capable of solving her own problems and even staying positive if she is unable to [2] [37], making her a potentially good influence for young children today. [28]
Now for another visual analysis of the sweet and fun moments with Kitty White. There is once again a filter to resemble darkness once it starts to rain, but in a more greyish shade compared to the tint of purple in “Sweet Dreams” [25] [57] [58]. Surely the backgrounds are still colourless like the asdfmovie series [42] [43] [44] [45], but the art style is still refreshing with interactive items being coloured in. I think Kitty’s green bikini with white polka dots in the sixth episode of the road trip season is stylishly adorable [19]. I also love glitter that occurs around her teddy bear in one moment of “Adventure Awaits” [11]. With the maintenance of an art style that consists of child-like charm, the second season is sure to maintain the series’ appeal for its prime target audience, even though the fish tank in “Sweet Dreams” looks like a dumpling [16] [22] [26]. After about several more episodes of Fun Hello Kitty Moments in 2021, I wonder if we will ever see Kitty White outside of the series with a blue bow that is between her ears like in Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio and a white nose like in her debut on a coin purse [15].

I adore the very simplistic, yet lovely starry setting here, along with the adorable design of Kitty’s smartphone. [17]

I also love a rainbow that appears over Kitty’s camper van after her struggle to wear the most appropriate clothing. [25]
In another cute conclusion, I can say that both Latin-American and English-speaking fellow kitties still adore Fun Hello Kitty Moments while many of our Nintendo nerds and Minecrafters are digging the fact that Steve and Alex will be the newest fighters in the ambitious roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and are starstruck by how Kirby will appear after he swallows either of them [16] [22] [26] [30] [38] [39]. I still strongly believe that many fellow kitties and Tama-caretakers will adore the upcoming crossover with Hello Kitty and Tamagotchi that will be released in December 2020 [4] [50]. It was quite strange yet refreshing how Kitty’s bow was settled in the centre of her head instead of her left ear in their previous collaboration with some other Sanrio characters [3] [41] [51], but it still brought out the timeless kawaii vibes she has consisted of ever since she was on a coin purse in the mid-1970s [15] [59] [60]. Could there be a third season of Fun Hello Kitty Moments that features different coloured bows [10], including a yellow one for a certain Mimmy [15] [48]? If not, we can still embrace the cuteness and innocence of the iconic gijinka whether she will be on a fashion accessory or another animated series. Stay sweet, fellow kitties!

Hello Kitty can never have too many vibes of cuteness! [12]
Have sweet dreams tonight, fellow kitties! [24]
