Could Garfield Originals Be A Nice Touch?

Garfield Originals is the new upcoming animated adaption of everyone’s favourite lazy and gluttonous feline [6] [16] [24]. It was firstly announced on the official website of Dargaud Media back in 2018 while many fans of the funny feline are celebrating his fortieth anniversary [14] [23]. It will be the third Garfield television series that is set to be first aired in Autumn 2019, possibly in France first since Dargaud Media is a French animation company [6] [7] [24] [28]. Additionally, Dargaud Media is the same company that produced The Garfield Show, the second Garfield television series that aired from 2008 to 2016 [7] [20]. Aside from the mixed to negative reception of The Garfield Show [5] [20] [21] [26] [27], part of the production seems to be in the hands of Jim Davis [6] [16] [24], the creator of Garfield, so I guess the third series could be an improvement. So far, we are able to see one image of what Garfield Originals will truly turn out to be [16]. Furthermore, let us examine how it can bring Garfield’s glory back on the air, as well as in digital formats as a…well…nice touch.

 According to one rather optimistic comment, the way that about each short will last for thirty-second shorts could be classified as the very late 2010s equivalent to the Garfield Quickies from Garfield And Friends [6] [10] [15] [16] [24] [29] [30]. And since I enjoyed watching Garfield And Friends on Boomerang when I was a child, I can agree with that statement. A number of 120 segments in total sounds very passable and quite impressive by simple production standards [6] [16] [24], so five of each definitely ought to be sorted into a single segment in order to guarantee a tasty dose of satisfaction that is almost as delicious as lasagne, according to the fat cat himself [13]. At least one season of Garfield Originals should be enough to entertain older and younger fans, including those who enjoyed watching the Garfield Quickies back in their simpler days [10] [15] [29] [30]. I still remember my mother laughing at the Garfield quickie from Garfield And Friends that featured Odie barking at Garfield and Garfield meowing at him during my childhood [10].

The new designs of the characters feature a nice choice of colours and quite an accurate display of the art style from the comics [6] [16] [24]. Even though I think the choice of colours is fairly accurate and eye-catching, I personally find the light blue outline around the eyes of Garfield, Odie and Jon quite off-putting. I also have a feeling that some viewers might find some of the colours too saturated. Luckily, a little extra effort is the lighting and shading at certain angles, which can increase the potential of the new style. Unfortunately, I am not too sure about a few anatomy features that might slightly decrease the appeal for some Garfield fans, including Jon’s squared buttocks and how Garfield’s ears look a little bent. At least they do not look as unappealing as Fred and Shaggy’s legs in Be Cool, Scooby Doo [3]. As for the mouse who could possibly be Squeak, I wish he looked as cute as he did in The Garfield Show [18]. I can say the characters at least look very convincing, despite the slight deformation of their anatomy in Jim Davis’ art style, thus the potential is already around.

I have noticed that the backgrounds are only coloured in some shades of a specific colour [16] [24]. I can see that it can help the characters stand out splendidly, especially when they will display their expressions for the humourous moments. On the other orange paw, I am not entirely sure about that decision as I remember the backgrounds looking rather variant with a small variety of different colours in Garfield And Friends [9] [29] [30], along with how I remember witnessing a similar variety of different colours for the backgrounds of The Garfield Show when I was a teenager [4] [5] [20] [22]. The comparison between the backgrounds in a segment of Garfield And Friends and the preview image of Garfield Originals feels like how one would notice the decline of background quality in the third and fourth seasons of Dexter’s Laboratory [27]. At least the objects that the characters will use shall consist of an entirely different colour to stand out, such as an indigo sofa for Garfield to unwind on and the dark brown and grey television set for a mouse to look unimpressed on [16] [24]. The minimal aesthetic of the background in the preview image at least looks decent, so the art quality still seems quite passable.

I guess the decline of colour and detail in the backgrounds for Garfield Originals was probably a cost cutting decision during the production. [16] [27]
Apparently, there shall be no dialogue in every single short whatsoever, leaving the humour up to the characters’ movements and expressions [16] [24]. I have nothing against characters who lack dialogue as the Pink Panther, Tom and Jerry managed to entertain audiences with hardly any words coming from their mouths [1] [25]. But for the sake of the humour we often see in the Garfield comics, I believe that the shorts should include speech bubbles and thought bubbles [8] [13] [14] [23]. They should appear at the right time of each short with text that looks similar to the font we see in the comics and match each of the characters’ expressions so that the series will consist of the repetitive charm that the comic strip formula has maintained for forty years [8] [12] [13] [14] [23]. Even if speech bubbles and thought bubbles will be absent when the final outcome airs, there is always fandubbing performed by several Garfield fans and aspiring voice actors and actresses.
Despite the lack of voice acting, speech bubbles and thought bubbles for the jokes can make each Garfield Originals short seem as if the Garfield Quickies from Garfield And Friends have been combined with the format of the comic strips. [8]
 Can all five thirty-second shorts display something to get a good laugh from, as well as the traits of the main characters for a younger audience in this generation in the way many older fans have admired [6] [16] [24]? Let us hope Garfield will still be the arrogant and sarcastic Monday hater we have adored since 1978 [13] [14]. As for Odie, I bet we would still be the adorable canine who barks and licks his best buddy. I would like to see some examples of Jon doing his job as a cartoonist in a few of the upcoming shorts as it has been mentioned in his debut with Garfield [17]. However, if he gets a job as a mailman in Garfield Originals, that would explain why he is wearing light brown trousers instead of his usual dark blue trousers in the preview image [16] [17]. But I digress. I would hope to see him as a cartoonist getting smitten with Doctor Liz Wilson [17]. If the mouse in the preview image really is Squeak, then I would be up for seeing some cute mousey antics of his [17] [18]. Let us hope the shorts will be as if the comics from the newspapers have come alive.

I am also up for seeing any of the minor and supporting characters from the comics in some shorts. I think it would be lovely to see Liz on some kind of date with our Jonny boy as a shout-out to all the Jon x Liz lovers [17]. I would not be surprised if Nermal, the cute, but vain kitten would show off how adorable he looks and unintentionally annoy Garfield. It definitely should be quite like how he would in Garfield And Friends, as long as Nermal does not end up being a jerk like he did in the episode “King Nermal” from The Garfield Show [22] [26]. Perhaps Jon’s brother Doc Boy could appear in one short, but let us not call him “Doc Boy”…for now [12]. If Arlene ought to make an appearance in any one of the shorts with her sweetness and grace [11], I wonder where Garfield could take her to on a date in Garfield Originals? We will have to wait to see what the final outcome has to offer when it comes to keeping the beloved Garfield crew in character, including the minor characters.
Yeah. Let us hope that Garfield Originals will not go down THAT route. [22] [26]
As for the Garfield x Arlene lovers, it would be nice to see some romantic hints between the two kitties. [11]


In conclusion, perhaps Garfield Originals could be a decent interpretation of the orange tabby’s repetitive and often laid back life. They might not have as much heart and soul as the Garfield television specials from the 80s and early 90s [2] [19], but I am sure it might capture the simplicity of the comics we often see in newspapers and the official website. Moreover, the animation and portrayal of the characters should hopefully make up for what was quite flawed in The Garfield Show [5] [20] [21] [26] [28], as well as providing the right elements of bringing the charm of the comics to life. I sure hope that Garfield Originals will turn out to be the modern equivalent of the Garfield Quickies from Garfield And Friends for those who grew up with the diet dodging kitty, despite how some of us miss hearing Garfield’s low and cynical voice and how the new art style might be slightly off-putting to some viewers. Garfield is one of the most iconic cartoon cats of all time, so feed him [13]. No raisins or anchovies please!

Defrosting The Teaser Trailer For Frozen 2

If you are looking forward to the official sequel of the highest-grossing animated film of all time [4] [10] [11], then you ought to be quite amazed at what the official teaser trailer has to offer [3] [15], like how Elsa the Snow Queen can offer some creative aspects with her ice powers [4] [5] [8] [10]. Back in my college years, I adored the first Frozen film to chunks of ice. I completely sympathized with Elsa and could relate to her struggle with controlling her ice powers and isolation [4]. It is no wonder my partner says that I am his ice queen. A promotional image for the upcoming sequel may have been accidentally leaked two months ago [11] [13], but that sure did not stop Disney from defrosting the teaser trailer. Without further ado, let us analyse what has been revealed in the teaser.

Some new character development awaits the independent and powerful Queen of Arendelle [3] [11] [15]. We get to see Elsa on a dark and gloomy shingle beach during a storm. I like her new icy outfit, even when she takes off the jacket and boots. I can tell by the way she styles her plait into a pony tail and charges across the sand and ocean like how she did as an insecure and ashamed new ruler in the first Frozen film that she will be a tougher and more determined snow queen in Frozen 2 [4] [3] [15]. She can be seen in another scene with Olaf hiding behind her leg as she tries to take down some purple flames [3] [15]. I guess the fire’s pretty colour and how it is all shaped into a heart around the snow queen and the snowman who likes warm hugs does not excuse its danger. With new dangers to face and a whole new outfit for expressing a likely expansion on her development, it seems like Elsa will be trying to take her abilities to the next level after finally being able to handle her powers without accidentally harming the innocent.

I thought this was meant to be “Frozen II”, not “Flaming Hot II”!! [3] [15]
As for Anna, Elsa’s sister, could she receive some extra development as well [3] [15]? She will at some point witness a series of beautiful diamond-shaped crystals that somehow reminds me of the crystals from Frozen Free Fall, a mobile game that immerses in the Candy Crush Saga clique [12]. Perhaps the crystals outside the castle could be a sign of a whole new prophecy or something. In another hinted scene, she is seen sitting by a huge part of a cliff looking rather sad [3] [15]. Her mood reminds me of when she sat like that by Elsa’s bedroom door after attending her parents’ funeral in the first Frozen film [4] [10], so I am suspecting that the sisters will be separated again in Frozen 2 [3] [15]. I suppose the younger sister could become experienced in battling foes with Kristoff’s new sword by the way she strikes with one at the end of the trailer [3] [15], which is a sign that a princess shall once again be empowered in the twenty-first century. Can Anna and Kristoff keep their love for each other blooming in the final outcome?
A new prophecy awaits?! [3] [15]
Do you wanna find your sister again? [11]
Perhaps plenty of us are hoping for some new quirky moments from Sven and Kristoff after Olaf discovered that he has always been a Christmas tradition in his own adventure back in late 2017 [8]. In another scene of the Frozen 2 teaser, we witness the noble blonde bloke riding the lovable reindeer with dog instincts as many other moose follow them [3] [15]. It would be interesting to be Sven playfully interact with a few other moose that will lead to some humourous moments. I do not think I would be too surprised if the new female character in beige winter attire owned one of the new moose as her own Sven due to how similar the style of her attire is to the style of Kristoff’s [3] [15]. Remember the good old days when we first saw the teaser for the first Frozen film that featured Sven supposedly competing against Olaf for his nose [14]? Good times.
CHAAAAAAAAARGE!! [3] [15]
We are yet to find out more about the two new characters that are briefly shown in one scene [3] [15]. The music sounds like part of the sound track for Moana, but I doubt that the hinted new character is actually that film’s starlet with the same name, despite having a hair style and a face that are slightly similar to Moana’s. As for the person with blonde hair who gets blown out of the ground by a gush of wind, could it be a sign that there is another misunderstood individual who is unable to control their powers [7]? Maybe that individual could have the power to control wind in the final outcome, but it will often backfire and send him flying around. In addition to this, the person could be a potential love interest for Elsa, but as long as they will not break the virtue of refraining from marrying someone they just met [4] [10]. I would not mind some new characters in the sequel, especially if one of them will be Elsa’s realistic love interest.
Who is that Moana-looking gal? [3] [15]
It looks like the location that the main cast gets a good view of will be heavily autumn-themed due to the huge amount of the red and orange leaves in the trees and on the ground [3] [15]. As we all know, autumn does come before winter, so I suppose that Frozen 2 will take place about one, two or three months after the first Frozen film [4] [10]. Even though mainly setting the first Frozen film in a cold winter environment perfectly matches the title of the franchise [4] [10], I suppose setting the sequel in the chilly autumn would not completely contradict the title. Autumn can be almost as cold as winter. Brrrrr. Is anyone up for a parody of Olaf’s song about summer that is about autumn [4]?
This, my friends, is our new chapter. [3] [15]
The art style and animation so far appears to consist of the same beauty of the first Frozen film [3] [4] [10] [15]. Every aspect of a fearful storm on the shingle beach appears to be realistic as the moments when Elsa tries to master her ice powers across the ocean kind of remind me Lara Croft trying to reach the other part of the wrecked ship in the E3 trailer Tomb Raider reboot [6]. Other details within the art style and animation in the teaser include:

  • Hints of a light blue aura from Elsa’s feet
  • Faint beams of sunlight shining on the army of moose
  • The fog around the large parts of a cliff Anna climbs and jumps on
  • The human characters’ hair and long parts of their attire flowing gracefully in the breeze. 

The sequel can guarantee a series of excellently rendered models with beautifully outstanding detail, including the same appealingly designed characters in new outfits and aspects of nature that flow fantastically by the power of big bucks.
Once again, the animators manage to display Elsa’s ice fantastically. [3] [5]
After analysing the official teaser trailer for Frozen 2, I believe that the royal sisters might be suddenly separated after seeing a land of autumn leaves beyond their palace [3] [11] [15]. I am not here to spoil, but I am here to analyse and hope for a great outcome. Plenty of Disney sequels and midquels have not been critically acclaimed throughout the 90’s and 2000’s [1] [9] [17], but we can hope that Frozen 2 and Toy Story 4 will be two of those follow-ups that can be seen as sequels done right in mid and late 2019 [1] [2] [3]. After all, I completely understand that not all chronological sequels and other follow-ups of successful Disney films have been considered to be as bad as others, depending on the views on other Disney fans and critics [1] [9] [16]. Will there be an explanation for Elsa’s ice powers? Will Anna enable a new strength she probably never felt before? Could Elsa have a new love interest who is a female as a sign that Disney is finally allowing same-sex romance to happen [7]? Will Hans seek revenge? With enough great thought put into it and satisfying answers for many questions, the next chapter could be worth melting for.
The long wait for their sequel hopefully never bothered them anyway. [3] [15]

Salad Fingers Has Returned To Haunt The World Wide Web

This is a critical analysis of an animated video that features grotesque imagery and rather unsettling moments, including:

Salad Fingers is back and more disturbed than ever [7]. It all started on Newgrounds back in 2004 with a strange green man who likes rusty spoons. With dull backgrounds, creepy character design and moments of shock factor, it is known as one of the most disturbing animated series in the entire history of animation, especially cartoons on the internet. For a while, it seemed like the series would end after the tenth episode aired in late 2013 until the first act of the official Salad Fingers game showed up in 2015 [6] [13] [14]. Supported by his Pateroids, David Firth, the creator of Salad Fingers has released a new nightmare for many internet browsers to face in 2019 that is simply titled “Glass Brother” [7]. I guess the fact that his official YouTube channel now has over one million subscribers was part of his motivation for creating another episode [1]. Since it has been a week since Firth unleashed a new demon, brace yourselves for a critical, yet cautious analysis of Mr. Fingers’ newest chapter.

Looking at the animation, art style and effects throughout the series, you can tell that they have been improving since about 2007 [5] [7] [11] [12]. You can see Salad Finger’s head from more angles in the newer episodes, compared to how the earlier episodes simply showed the front view and side view of it [2] [3] [8] [9]. His movement in the newer episodes seems to be more complex in the newer episodes, especially in Glass Brother. He is also an outline around his shirt and some detail on it in the newer episodes, which is an example of the art’s progression, along with the detail of various materials that make him seem quite lifelike [6] [7]. I can see the shadow of the green creature that was not around in the earlier episodes [2] [3] [4] [8] [10]. I see that Firth still uses the same style of dull shades of grey, beige and brown for each background so that the series’ atmosphere will always be remembered for being unnerving and making the characters’ unsettling actions stand out [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]. With livelier animation that lacks choppiness, good effects and more detailed materials, such as the metal of a cooking pot, the improved animation seems to enhance the disturbing nature of Salad Fingers’ life [7].
The art style in the first few episodes lacked much shading, had very little detail and did not make outlines of Salad Fingers' body parts even back in the 2000s. [2] [3]
The outlines of Salad Fingers’ head and eyes may be very thick, but the effects and art style has really improved. [7]
The plot of the new episode begins with the iconic green guy showing his three finger puppets to his reflection in a handheld mirror after greeting it [7]. I have always found the automatic subtitles that flicker like a candle flame as the green guy speaks to be a unique feature that makes the animation more uncanny for the audience [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]. Even though she is a finger puppet, I felt quite bad for Marjory Stewart-Baxter when she was having her hair ripped out by Salad Fingers’ revolting teeth as a punishment for “disobeying” him. It was quite unnerving when he coughed out the hair, but what do you expect from a mentally unstable humanoid? He must not like her new and more provocative appearance very much. Hopefully she might still taste like sunshine dust [8]. So, Jeremy Fisher is apparently the best-behaved puppet in the new episode, considering how he was accused of trying to seduce a lass in an earlier episode [4] [10]. As for Hubert Jason Cumberdale, the puddle of water that spawned around him is apparently tears of not being “a real boy”. So far, the plot establishes who Salad Fingers truly is as a fascinatingly unstable creature.

Later on, Salad Fingers gives Cumberdale a very unusual upgrade [5]. I think Fingers is quite creative for sewing pieces of flesh into Hubert, but it is not quite my idea of “growing up a little”. And wow! Hubert gets an official voice now! I have no idea where the applause came from before he manages to stand up and speak, but Hubert’s voice sounds quite youthful as if he is just a young boy. It seemed oddly refreshing to see a completely mute character…evolve like that. Imagine if the same transformation happened to Jeremy and Marjory. I personally would not feel fresh and ready for life if I was a sack of flesh sewed together that looked crude and strange, but I guess I can quite happy for Hubert as he can talk in order to express his feelings. I also have no idea where the green guy got the pieces of flesh for Hubert’s transformation from, but the way they were sewed into a finger puppet and brought him to life sure expanded on the weird vibes of the overall series. Remember when he was a sticky river [4] [10]?

The green freak seems to be behaving like a father-figure…until he tells his reflection in the vanity mirror that he is just a “glass brother” who would not understand [7]. I really would not want to do any favours for the bossy and verbally abusive elder in a rocking chair who suddenly appears next to his reflection. She is apparently his mother…or glass mother. She sounds quite like one of the Game Grumps’ humourously demonic Marge Simpson voice from their The Simpsons: Hit and Run gameplay video [15], but that still does not make her approachable to me. At least she triggered some suitable audio choices, such as the scarily low piano tune. Those fingers are indeed very long, which suits the series’ elements of surrealism and makes her seem a lot like a relative of our green creep. I guess the negative portrayal of his naggy mother must be the reason why he neglected the crying tree and used his daughter Yvonne to “clean” a window in Letter [5] [12], so he really still lacks a good family life and the series of abuse and neglect must be inherited, causing him to take it out on Stewart-Baxter [7].
Mother Of The Year? I think not! [7]
Even though it is obvious that Salad Fingers could not give the bowl of dark grey porridge to his glass mother because she is just a figment in a mirror, I felt quite bad for him when he started to tear up [7]. I have noticed that Salad Fingers’ own reflection confronting him in the mirror is similar to when you fuse the dialogues of him talking into a toilet and him confronting Jeremy Fisher into a bleak conversation in the sixth episode [4] [10]. It could just be how he is able to put himself into different perspectives as a sign that he is still mentally unstable with quite a poor grasp at reality. The viewers can see that there is another house for the glass brother and glass mother, which seems to be “home”, according to the verbally abused green dude. Similar to how Emily Youcis’ crazy canine, Alfred Alfer has a dictator counterpart as a hallucination [21], Salad Fingers is once again seeing a confronting version of himself, which is indeed an alarming aspect of psychological horror [7].
I think the name “Andrew Hands” suits the rude glass brother better. [7]
So Salad Fingers goes outside with Hubert, the real boy to find another entrance to the other home [7]. Again, you can see the details of the sky and ground that were not present in the first episode [2] [3], which are other examples of how the animation has greatly improved throughout the years [1] [5] [6] [7]. The aspect of psychological horror continues when the green guy greets the glass brother in the puddle and asks him to step aside, but the brother refuses. Oh my rusty spoons, that uneasy breathing of the new Hubert while Salad Finger tried to dive into the shallow puddle. His interactive reflection still does not be a good brother due to how he bothers him by repeating the word “rasp”. We once again see that the green guy is able to play more than one role in an uncomfortable scenario that can be portrayed quite well. The way he can do so provides some form of suspense, increasing the creepiness factor for those who remember the unsettling moments in the previous episodes [4] [6] [8] [10]. At least one of the green guys is not cannibalizing the other, unlike in the end of the episode “Present” [4] [10].

The scene of the horrible old woman forcing Salad Fingers to make disgusting porridge and threatens him in a handheld mirror sums up the cooking progresses and confrontations in Hell’s Kitchen and Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares [16] [17] [20]. I like the blue water effects used for the hot water in the cooking pot as it is yet another sign of the animation’s improvement. Nevertheless, that does not overshadow the hag’s vicious behavior and how the porridge made the green guy puke. The background of the shot of Salad Fingers taking a spoonful of the porridge somehow reminds me of some of the splatters in the backgrounds in the first few episodes, especially when the child enters Salad Finger’s home in the second episode [2] [3] [8]. Seriously, what kind of mother would let her offspring eat some horrific porridge that could definitely make someone throw up?! Well, at least Salad Fingers did not take pleasure in touching a rusty spoon in front of the old bag of bitterness [2] [3]. That would have been embarrassing! I would be in a nightmare if I had to make porridge for the monstrous elder, but the surprisingly calming shade of blue of the cooking water can make me feel braver.
Where is Gordon Ramsay when you need him to defend you from a nasty old lady who wants you to eat bad porridge?! And where’s the lamb sauce?! [7]
That porridge will definitely NOT be just right for Goldilocks. [7]
At least the new Hubert came to Mr. Fingers’ aid by kindly informing him that he is willing to clean up the vomit, aside from those somehow unpleasant sounds of flesh squishing and uneasy breathing noises [7]. I can see that he has some clearer and somewhat interesting character development, thanks to his new ability to speak. That same background appears again when the glass brother shows a desire for owning the fleshy Hubert, which is probably there to increase the creepiness and suspense, quite like in some shots of the characters in the first few episodes. Oh no, poor Salad Fingers when he had his flesh boy stolen by his glass brother. What a rather shocking moment to witness, especially his cries of despair and the nasty old woman’s suggestion of making Hubert a broom-lad! He has owned Hubert for a long time and had him taken away after helping him evolve. The choice of audio for the moment is excellent, including the terrifying music. I do not think Salad Fingers should be near mirrors anymore so that he will not lose a precious sack of flesh again.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! [7]
After Hubert’s kidnapping, Mr. Fingers quietly sneaks outside and pulls a Deep Sea Girl in order to prepare for getting him back [7] [18] [19]. I think Firth chose quite a suitable pattern of jagged waves that is quite noticeable in the deep black water that suits the twistedness of the Salad Fingers series. I thought the other house had a suitable location because I bet the viewers did not expect to see another house that highly resembles Salad Fingers’ home to be underwater. You can say that I was rooting for the green creep to release Hubert as he is now a precious flesh boy to him, but he suddenly gets caught by the glass brother. I know this is the eleventh episode of the series, but the close-up of the glass brother’s literal row of nails for teeth was absolutely grotesque and horrifying. But I digress as the scary moment of his rapid fidgeting, along with the glass mother’s scream sticks to what made the series iconic [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [8] [10] [11] [12]. I was quite relieved as the rightful owner of Hubert managed to send him back to the surface by tossing the jar into the galactic-looking puddle before saving himself.
I do not think Hatsune Miku would be comfortable with singing “Deep Sea Girl” in THIS sea. [7] [18] [19]
The beginning of the most disturbing moment of the episode. [7]
Did the other house have a handheld mirror too? If so, that would explain how the disgusting hag can still shout at Salad Fingers through his own handheld right after the glass brother’s fingers get pushed back down by the real deal [7]. The moments when she hostilely wriggles her fingers through it truly make her character more dismaying. After she crosses the line, her poor son breaks the mirror...but can still see that angry face in the pieces, causing the distressing verbal abuse to continue. So, he has to smash it again…and again…to make her stop. Oh, and not to mention that he grabs his beloved flesh boy, wipes his head in the other pieces of the mirror and…licks the pieces off his head. Ewww. It is horrific how the hag suddenly carries on insulting him with hints of profanity, even after the handheld mirror has been smashed, yet the green freak remains calm and cuts his finger on the piece to spread his blood all over it. But at least it was quite satisfying when our green creep closed the box, possibly never having to be verbally abused by her again [7].

In conclusion, the overall outcome of the newest episode is revoltingly refreshing and quite a chilling and thrilling way to introduce the green guy to new viewers [7]. I thought the Salad Fingers series might have officially ended at the episode “Birthday” and many of you probably have thought so too [6]. But I supposed that there is still enough room for some…unpleasantly unfinished business to do, including a sudden new character with the ability to hurt with words. We perhaps have learned more about the uncanny examples of parenting in the series’ setting; both encouraging and downright abusive. Perhaps if Firth wishes to animate more episodes, it would be frighteningly interesting to see Jeremy and Marjory as flesh children or a completely new scenario. Otherwise, a bad experience with two family members in the green creep’s perspective might as well seem like a decent conclusion. If you are a fan of disturbing animation and a dose of psychological horror, I quite recommend the latest episode of Salad Fingers. You can see how much the series has evolved since the first episode with decreased audio quality, lower art quality and a high-pitched voice for our green freak [2] [3].
I guess it will be time for our green guy to have some fun with a rusty items later. [7]
